Welcome! The first step is realizing how big the hole is, so you're off to a great start. =c) You'll learn a lot here. I find that just surrounding myself with like-minded folks helps a ton! Hope to see you around quite a bit.

Good for you for taking that first step. Set up a plan on how to get out of the hole and you will feel much better.

Post often and ask questions if you like.

Welcome - we are in a pretty similar hole - I owe $29,400 but that doesn't include my student loans. For now I have to chunk out the other debt first and get rid of that before I can conquer the student loans (otherwise I get WAYYYY overwhelmed!).

Month by month, week by week, day by day.....good luck!

I added up all of ours (incl student loans and credit cards) at it's like 76,000....overwhelming when you think about it...but if you look at some of the other member's tickers to see how much they've paid off, it's inspiring.
It is helpful to be on the board, keep everyone updated on your journey!

Hi and welcome! I'm new here too and I have about 34K in debt so i'm right there with you. First put away your CC's and track all of your spending. If you don't absolutely need it don't buy it. Pay for everything in cash too. I started doing that this month and couldn't believe how much
