Having a Good Weekend?

Is everyone having a good weekend? What are you doing to make it so good-& if not, what is happening to make it so?
It is sunny here now-after rain, rain & more rain-we are actually having sunshine now.I can hear Mike working on Adam's trail-the chain saw & his "modified" weed-whacker (we call it "The Widow Maker"-so I really don't think I should describe what he's done to it!)to cut away trees that are too close-although he has been carefully transplanting the ones he can.The trail for the Mule has to be wider & more gradually sloped than the one for the snowmobile-last weekend, Adam got down to the waterfront-but I guess it was a tight fit at times.
My plans are to work on some sewing projects.I finished up a second sundress for each of Susan's girls-but I must make some receiving blankets & a hooded towel for a baby shower.I suddenly realized that it is less than 2 weeks-I am going to be away for 4 days next weekend, & the day after I return from that-my friend Kathy is coming to visit for a few days. I haven't quite reached "panic-point", but almost! We (Mom & I)bought the mom-to-be all sorts of useful things-but I was to "top them off" with these blankets & a towel.I also have to prepare my knitting bag for next weekend's trip.
What are you doing where you are? We do have leaves coming out on our trees-finally.No lilacs yet-but the daffodils are beautiful & the trilliums are almost ready to "pop". Spring is happening in Eastern Ontario-HURRAH!I can still see the lake from the house-one of the first things to show that summer is imminent is that the trees get enough leaves that I cannot see the water from our deck, but that is ok-means the people on the lake (in their boats) can't see me either!

I don't know that we have quite that type of restaurant here either...I know that buffets often have a "carving station" where there will be a beef roast (usually prime rib) and a ham and maybe something else like a leg of lamb; but it is part of a larger buffet offering all kinds of entrees and side dishes and desserts. Usually "all you can eat" and fairly expensive. We rarely go someplace like that because dh doesn't eat red meat, they tend to be brunches rather than dinners, and we tend to gorge ourselves to "get our money's worth" and regret it later!
I have never had Yorkshire Pudding, I'm not sure where I would even find it here. Isn't it basically flour and pan drippings somehow made to puff up like a souffle? In health-conscious Southern California that is probably not a big seller!
I would like to try the sweet puddings which I gather are also made from flour but they have fruit or something suitable for a dessert? They are steamed and like a moist cake? But not custard-like which is what I typically hear called a pudding in the U.S. I would probably do well with an international dessert tour!
I have just the holiday for you. There is a hotel down
in the West Country that has a 'pudding club' where they
serve all sorts of delicious puddings. Just gonna see if
I can find the email address...hold on....right try
www.puddingclub.com/puddingclub.html It'll be an
interesting read if nothing else
