Congratulations Michelle!!

I dont look on this board as often as I used to and did not realise Nicole was born...I cant find your post describing the birth either, but I see she was 3 weeks early and is now OK and at home with you. I'm so pleased for you. I hope you are getting some sleep now. I love the name Nicole, by the way...

Hugs to you all

I HAD read your birth story before, Michelle, but my brain is very post-natal at the moment. Now I've re-read it and am again amazed by your bravery. I'm sure it will take time to process. I would have freaked out totally - I am such a wimp. Lucky for me and everyone around me that my births have been so easy...I think it is good that you talk about what happened. Have you written a detailed acount of it for yourself to keep, including the fear you experienced? I know that would help me to digest it.

Maybe your husband is reacting the way he is because he was so scared. Eventually he'll put the alcohol away because the world is full of germs we all have to encounter and he'll realise that Nicole needs to encounter them hersel to become strong.

Isn't it wonderful to have angelic babies. Tom is like that too. Last night we went to a party with 50 people and he just slept all the way through it (5 hours!). He made some slightly unhappy noises when we travelled home, but temperatures are sub-zero, so it's hardly surprising that he woke up. Once home I fed him and he dropped off for the rest of the night...I hope you dont have to wake Nicole up much to feed her. I'm not sure it's healthy to wake anyone up when they are not ready for it.

I hope sleep returns and wish you all the best
