? about getting pg again after birth

I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and 40 years old-I will turn 41 just before I deliver. This baby is a girl-both my DH and I really want(ed) a son-don't get me wrong, we feel blessed that we are having a healthy baby of any gender. However, we do want to try again.

Because of my age, I feel we should get on trying again asap after our daughter is born. I am planning on breastfeeding and would like to for at least a year. I know with my youngest daughter (who is now 12), I breastfed her for 2 years and never had my period during that time. I would really like to start trying within the first 6 months after our babys birth, but I am wondering how to go about doing this and still breastfeed. I also know that right after birth you are very fertile and am wondering if we should try again right away versus waiting a couple of months.

Does anyone have any input of experience with this that could maybe lend me some advice? I appreciate it!

I think it will be hard when breastfeeding.
