Your doctor said it was "highly unlikely" to become pregnant naturally at 40?

Thanks for your response Linda, and yes I'm looking for a new doctor because I've moved and this whole thing has got me nervous.

The doctor is giving you a crock of poop.

As long as a woman is ovulating, whether she is 13 or 50, and one sperm reaches and penetrates her egg, she can become pregnant!

I am pregnant with my 7th right now.

Hello Sharon

Here is my story :

I was told during my physical in April that I was entering perimenopause that with the fact I have only one ovary and tube pregnancy was not in my future so in June when I was experiencing the following symptoms bloating, frequent urination, tiredness, felling full I ran to my doctor as theses were the same symptoms I experienced when I had Ovarian Cancer so imagine my shock when she told me surprise your pregnant!!!!! and today I am almost 28 weeks pregnant at the age of 46 (47 in feb) with twin boys, So if a pregnancy isn't wanted then please do not stop using BC because it is very possible to conceive naturally at 40 or beyond,

I know how crazy the symptoms can make someone before I was told about being in perimenopause I always though OMG i must be pregnant it drove us crazy. Being the mother of 5 ( ages 26,24,21,17 & 9) we were done with babies so when I discovered I was preggo again I was afraid that my DH would freak but he was amazing. Maybe your gentleman would be so if you were.

If I were you I would call the doctor first to put your mind at ease and secondly to discuss safe BC methods. What ever you decide I wish the best for you and if you are pregnant then know that you can find a safe and supportive place here I know that this board has been a god send for me especially since my immediate family at first wasn't thrilled.
