I'm Tanya and new here. At 41,
Hi Tanya. Cong ratulations and welcome to the board! I can't really offer much advice on telling older children about a new pregnancy as my children are still young (five and almost two), but I know there are lots of other moms here who'll chime in with great suggestions for you. I just wanted to congratulate you and welcome you to the board! How are you feeling? Was this a planned baby or a surprise (not that it matters, it's just interesting to hear everyone's story). : )
I'm Joan, am 42, and am pregnant with #3. We tried from late January 2009 until May/June 2009 to get pregnant then stopped trying after my OB advised us we "should be happy with the two healthy girls we already have". Aside from my being AMA, I'm also a Type 1 diabetic so I wasn't offended by his words, but rather, took them to heart (as did my hubby). Anyway, three weeks before I was supposed to get the Mirena IUD re-inserted, I found out I was pregnant. We were shocked, nervous, scared, and excited all at the same time. I'm a SAHM and I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to do it all with three young ones running around... Anyway, we'd love to hear your story if you want to share it with us. I hope you're feeling well. Best wishes to you.
I am 42 and 27 weeks.
My kids aren't that much older (9, 7 and 4).
My older son is 8 and we waited until about 12 weeks to tell him. We knew he would be excited but wanted to wait because of two previous miscarriages. It was so hard before to tell him 'it didnt work out with the baby'.
Welcome to the board!!
I told my 14 yr old daughter right away -- about 7 weeks along.
Thanks for all your replies!

Do I ever have a story for you!
It was a week before Christmas and I went to the Dr. for heartburn and a possible UTI.
