Hello and congratulations! And welcome to the board, too! I'm Joan, am 42, and am expecting #3. Our oldest daughter just turned five and our second child (also a girl) will be two next week. This baby (a boy) is due in mid May. Although I'm not a first time Mom, there are some expecting first time Moms among us here in our board. But like Carol said, they're all just as exciting (I was 36 when I had our first so I certainly wasn't "young" by most people's standards, LOL). You'll find tons of support here so I hope you'll hang around and keep us posted on your progress. The ladies here are full of knowledge, information, helpful tidbits, etc., etc., so feel free to ask or state whatever comes to your mind. Best wishes to you.
CONGRATULATIONS! I am not a first time mom but welcome to the group of us! Let me say this.....this kid will keep you young and active for a LONG time!! Invest in good sneakers!
I'm 42 and pregnant with what I am praying will be our first child (I've had 4 miscarriages in the past two years). I'm farther along than in any previous pg (nearly 11 weeks now), saw the heartbeat (a first for us), AND am having pretty awful, constant nausea. So all signs look like "go."
I am a little worried too what it will be like to be gray-haired at the PTA meetings (I don't dye my hair anymore).... but maybe we'll home school and that won't be an issue LOL!
I think our real focus should be taking care of our health and finding ways to keep the energy up!
how far along are you? congratulations and good luck to all of us!
I'm 42 and also a first-time mom to be. I'll be 43 by the mid-August due date. I didn't have IVF but I am single. I'm not even sure who the baby's father is, it's between two people. One was my boyfriend but he took off just after we had been together the last time, and now he's apparently claiming he can't have kids (although he already has kids
Congrats on being 12 weeks, that is a great milestone, I am 6 weeks and everything looks good also, through IVF, keep me up to date on how you are doing.
Congratulations! I had my dd 2 months before my 40th birthday and I had a really hard time relating to some of the women on the boards at that time so I understand. I have just discovered that I am pregnant with #2. If all goes well I will deliver just after my 43rd birthday.
I have found a lot of mothers around my age in various groups I have joined (swimming, etc). I am very comfortable in the knowledge that I will not be oldest person at a PTA meeting.
