Welcome and congratulations! I'm not only pregnant at 42, I'm also a first-time mom-to-be and I'm single. So yes, I agree, it's both scary and exciting. Things are looking good with my LO so far, and you'll find many other examples here of women successfully having babies after age 40. Please stick with us as you continue your journey.

Hello and welcome! Ah, yes, the pregnancy journey for many of us is shocking, exciting, scary, and exhilarating all at the same time -- and that's naming just a few of the emotions many of us feel! There are lots of different stories on this board; some of us find ourselves surprisingly pregnant at this time of our life, some of us are here after trying for years and years to get pregnant; some of us have older children, some of us have younger children, and some of us are waiting to become first-time-moms. But one common thread we all seem to have is the support we give to and receive from each other. I wish you a happy and happy pregnancy. Congratulations! I look forward to traveling this journey with you.

BTW, I'm Joan, am 42, and am pregnant with #3. We have two girls, a five year old and a two year old. This baby is a boy who's due in May. Nice to meet you.

haha Karen.....indeed here in the UK it's like the policemen.....they get younger and you become a nana younger. My own mum is approaching 60 in 3 weeks...she is a great-grandma.

it's kind of a mixed bag here really. I know lots of young mums (14-20) and a number of older mums (37+).

hopefully bein a nana will keep me young and actived ntil my little one makes an appearance lol xx
