I don't know where to begin... I'm in shock/denial/scared/nervous and nauseous as all get out!

Welcome to the board and congrats! It took me about two weeks to overcome the shock of seeing two lines on the pregnancy stick. It is unnerving to read about all of the risks associated with pregnancy in your 40s however, you have already overcome the most difficult odds just getting pregnant. Even with the increased odds, consider that you have a 97% chance of having a normal, healthy baby. Those are excellent odds. I have one daughter who is 6.5 and she is thrilled to be a big sister. I didn't have an amnio with her but I will with this pregnancy in about 4 weeks. If all is good, we will announce to friends and family.

Take care of yourself over the next couple of weeks. Remember, Ginger Ale and Saltines are your best friends.

Carrie,

I've been so emotional this past week, there's no way I would've been able to hide it from my husband.

Carrie,

I'm glad you were able to confide in a co-worker...I just can't imagine keeping this to myself!! My BFF has been a great support for me this past week especially since I'm not seeing this the same way my husband is and our conversations aren't going very well. You said you're short staffed at work...don't tell me you're a nurse too?? (so many hospitals are short staffed)

I don't know about you but this appointment next week seems like it's years away!!

Hang in there,
Chris

No I'm not a nurse, I can't handle blood.
