Sorry, this is going to be long but I can't resist being thorough on this topic.


I've seen many women on these boards get needlessly upset about falling into the "positive" category when their chances of having a baby with a chromosomal defect is still quite small, ie anything less than 1:100

Dear Stella,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your information with me. Im sure the question of amnio will come up for me soon. With my first pregnancy, 2 1/2 yrs ago, I opted to do the quad screen and the level 2 U/S but not the amnio. My husband and I just wanted to be prepared for any health issues our baby may have had, but would have continued with the pregnancy reguardless. Im not sure I feel the same today. So thanks again. You have certainly given me food for thought!
