THe doctor's office just called.
are you talking about the AFP test? When I had my baby at 43 I refused this test because it has a High Rate of False positives. My Doc said it would come back abnormal when they factored my age into the screening. This test is just a screen not an absolute result.I hope tis helps.
No it's not the AFP testing.
WAs this the PAPP-A test?
Since my original post, I have learned alot about this test!
I had the bloodwork taken the day of my N/T ultrasound - I can't believe they would do it the other way around. They should then combine the results of BOTH tests, along with your age, and give you adjusted results. I'm sorry they put you through so much stress upfront. You will have much more information after the u/s - and even then, keep in mind that this is a SCREENING test, and not definitive by any means.
