(cross-posted)

It's been a long wait, but we had our second level 2 u/s yesterday, at 21w2d. We were nervous because we had a positive screen for Down's, though the last U/S at around 17 weeks looked normal, it was still too early to see the heart clearly. Anyway we had our second Level 2 u/s yesterday and everything looked normal!!!! Yay! Baby measured 6 days ahead at 22w1d, which is well within normal range and reassuring...better to be a little ahead than behind.

Best of all, we were able to clearly see the gender. They saw the labial folds, and it's a girl!!!! We are so excited! My BIL's wife, who is a week behind me, had her u/s the same day and they are having another boy. My SIL and her DH are really excited because they have a girl, and they have been saving baby stuff for us.

Our girl has been very active, I have been feeling so many thumps and movements, and our u/s showed I have not been imagining anything...she's a little kickboxer! They said she weighs about a pound and is about a foot long now.

The Peri said everything looks good and they are releasing me to my OB. Just a regular, healthy pg now!

So now we get to start looking at names, planning the nursery, and all that fun stuff.

Such good news! Congrats on your baby girl. Doesn't it feel great for things to be going so well they say you don't need special care?

Congratulations on such a great ultrasound and for finding out your having a girl! How exciting -- on both accounts! How funny that you feel your little girl kickboxing so much already. She must be a fisty one, for sure. I think I was well over 20 - 21 weeks before I felt extreme movement. Of course now, at 35 weeks, I sometimes fear this little guy is trying to kick his way out, LOL! Thanks for sharing your news with us. I hope you're feeling well. Please continue to share your journey with us -- we love it!

Thanks everyone! Yes, it does feel great to be released from the Peri. After all we've been through, a perfectly normal healthy pregnancy would be such a blessing!!!!
