Hi. Although you have a greater risk of developing Type II diabetes after gestational, GD ends with delivery for most women. You will need to control (and test) your blood sugar daily. You may not require meds and they may just put you on a diet (usually restricting carbs/sugar/white flour) and have you exercise to keep things in check. Or you may take an oral medication, or insulin shots.
