Finally here!

We were scheduled to deliver on Tuesday, July 20th @ 8:30am but our baby girl decided she didn’t want to wait that long! My water broke Friday, July 16th around 11:30pm so we went off to the hospital. I was only dilated to 2 cm so they didn’t consider it an emergency and they said they would schedule the c-section for the morning. We ended up going in at 9am and she was born at 9:28am.

Summer Nicole was born July 17th, 2010 at 9:28am weighing in at 7 pounds & 11 ounces. She was 20 ¾ inches long & she was born screaming & let everyone know she was here! It was such a wonderful sound to my ears though since our angel baby Dalton only gave one little small whimper when he was born.

The only thing I hated was that due to my water breaking I had to go through contractions for about 8 hours before they took me back to the OR. I thought gee I didn’t sign up for these! And the c-section went okay except for some reason it took 6 tries before they got my spinal tap in right & working. Talk about painful! Ugh! Last time with Dalton it was one time & it was great - not so this time! But after that everything else went fine and no problems at all.

We got to go home on Monday & have just been trying to adjust to finally having this baby girl at home at last! She is such a precious baby & I can’t believe we finally have our baby here & in our arms. I am not sure how I am going to leave her when it is time to go back to work! L

I love her so much & every minute with her is a joy!

I have attached a few pictures of her. It is amazing how much they change from day to day! I don’t want her to grow up! LOL!!

Congratulations! What a beautiful baby girl! I don't think it will be much longer for me. It's likely that if I don't go into labor before next Tuesday, a c-sec will then be scheduled for August 9, but it's just as likely I'll go into labor before then and probably end up with a c-section anyway. It's actually supposed to be better for the baby, with a c-sec done before 39 weeks, if you go into labor first. My doc said they won't schedule a c-section any earlier than 39 weeks.
