ultrasound not assuring

I had a transvaginal ultrashound today and there is nothing in my uterus. Not even a gestational sac. Now they are concerned that it may be an ectopic. I am supposed to be 6wks 5days. Has anyone else had an ultrasound with nothing this late and continued to have a normal delivery? I had HCG levels drawn today with a follow up on Friday but won't know anything until Monday.

Be very cautious with your decisions that you make at this point.

Joanne-
How are you doing. I thought about you all day today. I know how it is with hope. When I had my first mc i saw a perfect 8 week fetus with no heart beat and I still had so much hope, even though I was bleeding and I am an OB Nurse. No one should have to go through this pain. We have our next apt on Tuesday at 4. I am not even hopeful anymore. My biggest fear is seeing a live baby only to have it stop growing a week later. I havn't even been looking at the screen during the ultrasounds for fear of what I will see.
I am so sorry I don't have any wonderful words of wisdom to get you through this. Just know that time really does heal and some day we will hold our angels in our arms in heaven.
I am praying for you.

Thanks for checking on me. I'm doing ok. Spotting started Friday evening and its been very light so I figure it'll be another week or so before anything starts. I'm trying to put everything aside right now so I can enjoy halloween with my little boy. We painted pumpkins this weekend and I'm hoping that all thsi doesnt start at least til after Halloween.

I wish you luck for your u/s tomorrow. Its so stressful. Post when you can.

I wanted to let you know that we returned to the Dr. today for an ultrasound and one of the gestational sacs has a little tiny fetal pole, yolk sac and heart beat. I know we are not out of the woods yet as it measured about 2-3 weeks behind what my dates say it should but we went from nothing to 2 sacs to a fetal pole in 2 weeks so that is reassuring. It is a little bitter sweet though knowing that so many of you are going through so much. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

Joanne- How are you? Know that I think about you often.

josie,

have you ever heard that you can get pregnant while your pregnant? it is true. i know twins who were biologicaly two different mens' children-dna proven. my sisters twins were believed to be conceived a couple of weeks apart, just because of the way they were growing. so its possible your overy let out another egg by accident, or whatever you want to call it and you got pregnant again and thats the new little one. by any means good luck. i truely hope everything works out and the baby or baby's are and will be ok. i will keep you in my prayers.

I'm so glad you saw a hb! I checked on you several times yesterday and was starting to get a bit worried. That's wonderful news!

I'm doing alright. I've started cramping and bleeding so its only a matter of time before teh whole process starts. I've taken some time off work so at least I'll be home when it does.

Joanne-

That was and still is one of my greatest fears. I can't imagine it happening at work. WE are not out of the woods yet as we are still about 2-3 weeks behind but we will see what happens.

Thinking of you.
