I lost my baby last year in my 16th week and now Im pregnant again(9wks) but I am terrified to go to prenatal Care ..b/c I think my last OBGYN sucked! She told me that I was having an Inevitable mis carriage..but then my sonographer told me my baby was fine ..I tried getting a second opinion and then I heard that my baby had no head...Mind you ..I saw the sonogram and my baby wasn't missing anything ..but within a week I passed my little angel on my living floor b/c I refused to go to any more doctors..
I don't thnk its wise not get care but I am very Iffy...Does anyone think Im scared without reason?

I m/c at 12 weeks, and then had weeks of bleeding afterward. I kept having all these procedures done and they told me I was going to need surgery for polyp removal. Well it turned out that wasn't the case. After 2 second opinions, I learned i was just bleeding for a long time (some spotting) because of how far along I was. When I first started spotting, my doctor told me everything was okay with the pregnancy, which was not true. I was frustrated with my original doctor and when I became pregnant again decided not to go back. I chose on of my 2nd opinion doctors as my new one. I adore him and everyone who works in the clinic.

I know after hearing misinformation that it is difficult to return to the same practicioner. My advice would be to find a new one and try and get recommendations from friends. Also, tell them your story and see how they react. It is very important to get prenatal care, so please go soon. I had low progesterone levels and was able to get on a supplement and in a few weeks I'm going to have my baby. Even going to a new doctor may be scary until you pass the 16th week of this pregnancy. Truthfully, I didn't feel comfortable until I reached between 20-24 weeks with this one.

Best of luck to you, and once again, I don't think you are scared without reason.

Thank you so much for your concern ...for a moment I thought no one was going to offer any kind of advice..It's good to know that I'm not over reacting..I have been doing alot of research and I am reluctantly coming to a decision + my hubby says he won't allow me to wait until im past 16 weeks to get care. So today im going to make my first appointment..

I can understand why you're nervous about pre-natal care. Having a doctor is a bit like having a relationship, I think. You need to have good chemistry with your health care provider. Doctors are like any other career- there are people who are very good at it and people who really should have chosen another profession.

Still, in the long run, good prenatal care is improtant. If you found the right doctor, I think you'd be reassured instead of discouraged. Ask friends and family for some recommendations. Someone must have a doctor that she loves and perhaps you could switch to that doctor. Also, nurses can tell you a lot about a particular doctor's bedside manner.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your advice ..I am glad that I'm not over reacting .I did however choose an OBGYN..and I have made vow to do everythng differently ...I chose a man b/c my last one was a woman ..and I think that I would get along with a man much better (My last one ..a woman... told me that my cervical exam wasn't as uncomfortable or painful as the sex I had to get pregnant..) How rude!!..
I don't have many female friends which is why this mess board is the best thing that ever happened to me.. and I haven't told anyone that I am pregnant but you guys and my hubby. Any way ..my 1st app is next Wednesday and I'm looking forward to it b/c I want to know how my baby is doing.
