colds and flu dangerous??

I'm 8weeks pregnant and my hubby is very sick with a cold/flu. I feel it coming on with me is this dangerous to the baby?? Anyone experienced this?

I have been unfortunate to get virus after virus since the beginning of this pregnancy. At my first appointment, my doctor gave me info when to call. One of them was with a temperature over 100.7. I don't think the actual virus can be harmful, but you need to be careful what medicines you take to treat symptoms. I've only taken Tylenol a couple of times with this entire pregnancy. I usually try other things--e.g. humidifier, Vick's Vapor on my chest/under nose, propped up with pillows, gargle with salt water, lots of fluids, etc.
As always, call your doctor if you have any concerns or questions. I finally went to mine for my latest virus because I was worried I had bronchitis or pneumonia, but it was just a horrible virus going around and she told me to do what I'd already been doing.
I hope you don't get sick because it's not fun. BTW, I really do try and wash my hands frequently and make your DH wash his hands too-especially when sick. We keep the instant hand sanitizer in the car with us and that helped my DH more than me. I keep getting things from my son, who just started preschool this year.
Take care,

I agree. Wash hands!
Yes, I had sinus infection after sinus infection with my DD. I ended up taking 5 day Zithromax (sp) for the infections. As far as a regular cold, just drink lots of hot water with lemon, tea as long as it's decaf and an herb approved during pg...humidifier in your room, vicks etc...
I thought I would be more immune when I was pg, boy was I ever wrong. My pg was during the winter months so I got most everything that went around. But only YOU are sick, baby is nicely secure in your womb and very protected as long as you take care of what meds you use.
Get plenty of rest and take care...Karen
