Pregnant! I have some questions..help???

I am new to this board but I have some questions. I had an ectopic in Oct 01 and have been with an RE since Sept. The first month I o'd in 2yrs I conceived! We are sososososo excited and hopeful. We had an u/s on 2/28 which showed the sac in my uterus where it is suppose to be. We are SO happy about that just to know it can get where it needs to be. When she measured it she said I was 4wks 1day. By my LMP I should've been 4wks 6dys. I was so happy about the pregnancy being in my uterus all I could ask is if she was sure everything looked ok and she said it did. She asked me if I was 4wks 5 or 6dys and didn't seem like measuring 4wks 1 day was something wrong. My question is if everything is ok why is it measuring 4-5 days behind? They have me as being 5wks 1 day this monday when I figure I should be 5wks 6days. Does anyone know why the difference would be?? I am having another u/s this monday. My numbers went from:
hcg 2/21 207
2/28 2514.8
Progesterone on those two days was 114(2/21) 93(2/28) they said both those were great they did what they should. If I am really just going to be 5wks 1day this Monday what should we see on the u/s? I thought we couldn't see anything until 6/7wks. What do you all think???

First let me say congratulations and welcome! As far as your u/s's, I always measure off by 3-7 days because I have a 34 day cycle, so is it possible that you have more than 28 days between your cycles? Are they precisely regular? Ovulating at a different time than expected because of your LMP isn't uncommon at all.

And for your upcoming u/s's, I wouldn't expect to see anything remarkable. I don't even let my doc give me one until I'm 7 weeks, because I don't want to see a sac w/out a heartbeat (I'm a big wuss). But I believe by 6 weeks you have an 80% chance of seeing a heartbeat, and by 7 wks it goes to 100%.

So anyway, I hope that was helpful, and good luck! I look forward to hearing how it goes.

My cycles are very irregular so I don't have a 28 day cycle. But I know that I o'd on Feb. 6th or 7th because it was confirmed by u/s at the re's office. I triggered on Feb.5th so I know when I o'd. I had my lmp on Jan 27th. So your saying I won't see anything to much this week either?? If I am going by their calculations I am only 4wks 6 days today. Which would put me 5wks 1day on Monday at the time of the u/s. Should't we see a yolk sac or something other than just an empty sac?? I know we should see something in week 6 and definitely in week 7. I just can't wait to see that little heartbeating so that I can relax a little more. Thanks Misty and that does help...thank you.

Hi- I think your doctor is right.. if you know when you O'd.. count from there and add 2 weeks.. It adds up to 5W 1d.. I had an IUI and I was triggered very early in my menstrual cycle and had to use when we triggered and O'd as the start and added 2 weeks.. my u/s at 6 w 1d showed a sac and embryo growing to the day after my trigger (my LH was rising so I O'd the next day after the trigger). Using LMP ca be inprecise if your pre O days are more than 14 days or less (like mine).. A "regular cycle" is 14 days including O and then 14 days after O.

It sounds like you're on track! As for what to see- I am not sure about what at 5 weeks but it seems like 5 weeks might be too early to see anything quite yet.. Best wishes, Laura

Hi! Congratulations and try not to worry! (Easier said than done, I know!). I measured almost a week off at my first 2 u/s. They are measuring in millimeters at this point, so a fraction of a millimeter can make you look way behind. My dr. said he wouldn't even raise an eyebrow unless it was more than a week off more than once. Your u/s on Monday may also be too early to see a h/b - I guess they just want to see growth - and as long as the sac is about the right no. of days bigger than the last u/s, you are doing just fine. Your numbers look great, by the way!

Keep us posted after your appt. and GOOD LUCK!

Congratulations and welcome to the board!

I just wanted to let you know that we couldn't really see anything in my 6 week u/s other than the gestational sac. It wasn't until my next appointment 2 weeks later that we were able to see everything inside. By then the h/b was visible. I say this so you don't worry if you don't see anything right away. I'm now 13 weeks and on my way to the second tri. Good luck!!!!
