(Note: Also posted on Sept. EC Board & Update to EVIL SIL Due Week B4 Me)

OMG, I'm out of the PG closet!!!!!!!

DH and I just told our school! This is really big news for us b/c we are foreign teachers in Japan and we aren't really sure how this will play out. Originally we were considering waiting until next week, but as my belly has a mind of it's own we thought it prudent to make a formal announcement before people started guessing. With proof that they know of my pg, they have less of a legal leg to stand on should they try to "let me go". Hopefully it won't come to that.

Anyway, as scary as it was (and I was shaking under the table) I'm glad it's out there. Now we can tell all our friends in Japan and we are free to tell DH's family in Canada later this month. We can start really celebrating this pg. This is so exciting!

Thanks for listening,

Bonnie,

Yup, we told her indirectly. First we told the school, then we called DH's brother. DH's brother is married to Evil SIL and I'm sure he has shared the news by now. Also we got the scoop on when she is due. She's due 9/5, just 4 days before me!!! Originally I was really upset by this, but I have worked really hard on turning this strange luck into a positive experience. With her due around the same time I'm a little more protected. If her claws come out professionally it will reflect badly on her. I won't let her get to me personally. Plus, now maybe DH's mother may consider coming out to Japan since there is the double incentive of two grand-babies due the same week. I could really use the support! All the women in Japan are really worried about me b/c I don't have a mother to show me the ropes. Japanese women go stay with their mothers for a month or two after delivery to learn how to adjust to their new role and get that extra emotional and physical support. Most foreign women at least have a Japanese MIL to help out if their mothers aren't available. As two foreigners in Japan we are a rather special case.

I'm such a rambler these days! Thanks for everything.
Belly Rubs,
