Sex in the first Tri?

When dh and I went to our follow-up appointment after my d&c last May, my ob said that a few different things that would happen the next time I was pregnant would be that I would be followed a little more closely and that I would be on pelvic rest.

I was told sex was fine in the first tri. BUT, I was/am so tired and nauseous that it has not been happening much anyways.

My doctor had no concerns with sex in the first trimester, but I will admit that I was scared and only allowed DH to come near me 3 times in that trimester. Our PAL brains have more to do with our anxiety than the concern about sex harming or causing a m/c. For reassurance, call your doctor. They have heard it all and obviously most of us had sex to be in the positions we are in! (wink)

I was told we could have sex as usual. I didn't have a d&c with either of our m/c's, but was never told anything about pelvic rest...and believe me I asked! I would call your dr....just to feel secure with whatever decision you make! (((HUGS)))

My OB said that unless you m/c due to a problem with your cervix or something, the baby is totally, absolutely not in harms way by having sex. I know this time around, after m/c back in April, I was so scared to continue having sex once I got my BFP, but I just had to believe that sex does not cause m/c.

DH & I are very uh hem...active (!! blush), but nothing out of the ordinary, and I am just a little more cautious (i.e., deepness, etc.) and if I am feeling any sort of crampiness, then I tell DH 'not tonight!'

You know what, I've never had any worries about having sex anytime during pregnancy. I just use caution. If it starts to feel uncomfortable or any spotting (which has never happened but is normal), I would just give it a while or ask the doc about it.

Okay, sex is so far from our minds that when I read the thread topic, I thought you were going to ask if it's possible to see the baby's sex in the first trimester, LOL!! DH wants to actually, but it's just painful for me. I'm not "responding" if you know what I mean, and there's KY but I'm just not into it. My body is in gestation mode!

You shouldn't have to worry at all then. I know it makes you nervous, but sex will not make you m/c. But, you should wait until you feel comfortable about it.
