1st appt. update

So I went in for my first appt. today. When I made the appt, I specifically stated that it was a 1st pre-natal - that indicates for more time because of the internal exam. So when I got in with my doc, she didn't even know that I was pg - the lady who took the appt. didn't note it.

Anyway, we chatted about how things are now as compared to last time. Everything has been very good, except that I've had some bright pink spotting in the morning when I get up to go to the bathroom, both Monday and today. But I've also had some pretty good cramping going on the night before. It could very likely be implantation, because there is no tissue, and its only on the tp at the time when I pee and then nothing for the rest of the day (sorry, tmi).

So we did the blood pressure, urine sample, weight check. She's sending me for the regular blood work. She wants me to go for my bloodwork, and then come back in a couple of weeks to do the internal (and the b/w results will be back by then). And because of the spotting, we'll wait and see what happens over the next couple of weeks and if I need to see her before then, I can call her. If there is still spotting and cramping going on, or if it gets worse, then she'll schedule an u/s at that point.

So, its all pretty good. Just a waiting game at this point. Don't like to see the spotting, but it seems to be from implantation. Its still so early in the pg. I take notice of when I cramp and when the spotting happens, and its usually pretty consistent. Like I said, its just clean and fairly thin, so I'm trying not to worry or freak out. It also doesn't happen every day. So here I am, playing the waiting game ...

Oh~~~the waiting game stinks! I had that with this baby girl due to very low progesterone! Sounds like you had a wonderful appt and have a wonderful dr. though who will be there for you and all of your concerns! That makes a world of a difference! (((HUGS)))

Hi Leah,

Yup, this waiting sucks!! But there isn't much more I can do. Its still so early, and there are so many things that are going on in there that I can't control. So I take my vitamins, drink my water, eat well and get my rest. That's what I can control and I'm doing my best to try not to worry incessantly!!

Overall the appointment was good. We talked about some early testing, which I may opt for this time around. She's a great doc, and I'm lucky to have her. She's a little older than I am, and so very practical and very proactive.

Thanks for the thoughts!! Hugs to you - hope you are feeling well!

Hi Stephanie,

Yes, I'm trying to go with the flow for now. As my doc and I both said this morning, its a matter of waiting and seeing what happens. Of course, with past history, it always adds a little more anxiety to the waiting process, but there's nothing I can do about that other than take good care of myself, which I am.

My doc is in the office this week and covering the ER all weekend, so she said that she's easy to find if I need to talk to her.

How is your spotting? Gone away yet? That is the hardest symptom for me to deal with, although I had a lot more and very different spotting last time. I'm trying to stay optimistic.

Thanks Jenn,

I'm crossing my fingers and trying to stay relaxed. Its always a long wait through the first tri. I'm half way through that now, and with another appointment in two weeks, that gives me something to focus on that really isn't too far away.

Hope you are still feeling well yourself!

Thanks Jai,

No more spotting since yesterday morning. I did have some cramping last night and expected some this morning, but not yet. I still feel pretty positive about the whole thing, except for a weak moment here or there!! I really think that its implantation, because I've become much more tired and my bb's are so sore sometimes it feels as if they will fall off!!
