I hate Dr.'s! They wanted to cancel appt

Well, I have my appt set for this Friday... I have been counting the days, the minutes, the seconds!!! Due to my miscarriage at 15 weeks 3 days, where I got no answer as to why, other than "some times these things happen"... Just like all of us I guess, I am scared that something may go wrong and as soon as my m/s diminishes or my bb's get a little less sore, I start to wonder!!.... So I promised myself I would calm down and leave it all in God's hands and I promised myself I would not stress out and just wait for my appt, which I have been doing and I was doing ok, until this morning when I get a message telling me my appt was cancelled because they usually don't see anyone before 8 weeks! which is a two week wait! I am thinking WHAT!?!?!?! I understand if there hasn't been any miscarriages or anything, but I just had a miscarriage! and I explained that the first time when I made my appt!! Can't you just see me!?!!?! She is the receptionist so I'm thinking "you don't know anything!!! I want my appt back!!!!" I argued with her

Jennifer, I feel your pain. I don't even get to see my doctor until Nov 28th. I went to my prenatal "refresher" group appt today. All that was for was to fill out paperwork and get my lab slips, that's it. I tried to explain to them that I had had a m/c at 16 wks, but they didn't care. The OBs don't see you until around your 12th week, so now I patiently wait.

Hope you get to go on Friday and see your little bean.

My Dr.'s office acts like that too... Like I have never lost a child.... The receptionist is usually very apprehensive about letting me talk to my nurse, and I tell her I either talk to her.. Or your supervisor.... And she will put me through.. no ?'s asked... and YOU need to call and talk to YOUR Dr.~!~ Not a receptionist.. so call tomorrow and demand to talk to him/her, if they say no.. then go in.. If he/she is there, he will at least talk to you, i have done it to my Dr. before.... And my Dr.'s office is 30mins away~!~.. HTH

Oh Jennifer....it is SOOOOO difficult being a PAL...especially when the Dr's office doesn't seem to care. Keep fighting for that appointment and fight for the testing. YOU are PAYING them...right? When I was pg with my DD (my 1st m/c was before her) that is exactly what I had to do. They kept saying "we don't see anyone until 12wks"..i battled and fought and got in at 10. With this girl (m/c #2 before her) they were/are basically at my becon call. Keep fighting! (((HUGS)))

Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear that you're going through this! But, I do feel your pain. When I found out I was pregnant with this baby, I called my OB to make an appointment.... only to find out he wasn't doing OB anymore (about to retire). So, I called a different Dr to set up an appointment... and they refused to see me until 12 weeks! I asked for at least bloodwork to check my progesterone becuse it was low during my last pregnancy (ended in m/c) and they refused to send me for bloodowrk since I had never been there before! They expected me to go through my whole first trimester, after having a m/c, with no prenatal care, no prescription viamins, nothing! So needless to say, I told them where to go. I called yet another Dr, who wanted to see me at 8w for my first appointment and ultrasound. but when I explained my situation, he sent me for bloodwork and gave me a prscription for progesterone, but still wouldn't do an ultrasound until 8 weeks... he said there wasn't enough to see any earlier than that, but if I had any problems to call and he'd see me sooner. So unfortunately, it isn't unusual for a Dr to want to wait until 8 weeks to do an u/s. But they should send you for bloodwork, especially if they know about your previous m/c... if your progesterone is low, you will need supplements! If they are unwilling to at least order the bloodwork, then it might be time to find a new OB. I know it is stressful, but keep fighting to get what you want! Good luck to you!
