First OB appointment.... NERVOUS!!!!

I know I am posting a little early but I figured if I had a little extra time to get some responses it might help. I have my first OB appointment on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. I am so nervous... I have never really made it far enough to have an actual first OB... All I know to expect is the internal exam, and blood work... What else will they do??? I'm not too worried about anyone saying anything TMI... I want to know exactly what will happen. I've only had mild cramping, which I am pretty sure is just the normal stretching and pulling of my uterus. But I have some sharp pain near my left ovary, which I know I have a cyst there, and I am kinda concerned about that... However I really really want to know what's going to happen at my first OB...

My first appointment went something like this:
1. I checked in & they verified my insurance was the same
2. I was asked to pee in a cup
3. They took my weight and I sat in the doctor's office for a short consult about what would be happening throughout the pregnancy and how many visits I would be receiving and they asked questions about the symptoms I was having (LET THEM KNOW EVERYTHING!!! EVEN THE CRAMPING)
4. I was lead into the exam room where I stripped down and had a regular exam and they took a sample (you may bleed a little). Your doctor will also stick their hand in and feel your uterus and cervis making sure everything "feels normal"
5. We discussed weight gain and fluid intake & eating habits AND Morning Sickness (My enemy)
6. I also asked about cord blood banking and additional ultrasounds because of other medical complications I experince while pregnant
7. We discussed the type of testing I would undergo throughout the pregnancy
8. I was sent to the lab to have my blood drawn for a few days to verify my hormones were increasing appropriately
All in all it is very much like a regular annual visit to your OB/GYN. It really depends on your situation and past experiences with pregnancy. I wouldn't worry too much it isn't too bad, I wouldn't select the exam over going to a movie and dinner though.
Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

To add to the PP, you may talk about the normal pg stuff: medical history, foods and meds
