I had my u/s at 7:30 this a.m. after a restless night of worrying. The baby measured 7wks. (I am 6 wks 3 days per LMP and 6 wks 5 days per ovulation date, so it was close.) The heart rate was 132.
The u/s tech warned me that she might not be able to see much. But within a minute, she turned the screen to face DH and me and we immediately saw the heart beat. I came very close to crying and DH was definitely choked up. Before I went into the appt, I was thinking Bonnie's post about her first u/s and I think I was just as nervous!
My appt with the NP went very well. She thinks my cramping is normal and said I might notice it more than others because I have a tilted uterus. She didn't have an explanation for my lack of symptoms but said some women just don't have many. (Hmmm...I think I've heard that before!) She was very understanding and said I could come back every two weeks to see the OB if it made me feel better. I don't think I need to go that often, but it was nice of her to offer it. She did mention that my m/c risk is low because we saw the heartbeat. Since I had a m/c after seeing the heart beat last time, that stat is not as comforting as it was a year ago. But, last year, the baby measured 6 wks 2 days when I was 8 weeks pg. This time, the baby is bigger than that.
I think I can enjoy being pregnant now and hope for the best! Now, I know that I can feel well and still have a baby with a beating heart, as many of you already told me.
I hope everyone else has good appointments this week.

Yiiipppeeeeee!
Jen, I am so happy you had a good appt and that your little bean is growing away!
Yay Jen! I'm so happy the baby's growing so well! I can imagine how relieved you must feel, and I know what you mean about being assured that you can in fact have a perfectly healthy baby growing while you feel well! I've been feeling pretty well myself, and of course that makes me worry, even though we had a perfectly fine u/s last week (it measured exactly 7 weeks and had a hb of 129, very similar to you!). I told my OB my concerns about feeling so well at my appointment this morning, and she said, I'll bet you'd be worrying if you felt really horrible, too! I had to admit she was right. I think it's time to start calming down and enjoying all this!

Jen - I'm glad that you had a wonderful appointment. Hopefully some of the worries are now gone, though I know all too well how hard it is as a PAL.

That is great, Jen! I am having a similar experience with the cramps and I also have a tilted uterus. Interesting! My symptoms are really mild (only a bit of nausea here and there, soreness that comes and goes in my breasts, and fatigue only since last week), and I freak out every now and then when I feel no symptoms. I wish the heartbeat brought comfort - I had the same experience as you with my last pregnancy and it's hard to get past that. But I'm feeling better about this pregnancy all the time. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed!
Best of luck to us all!

Jen,
I haven't been around the boards for a while so I was so excited to see your posts! Just wanted to say congratulations and I am so happy you got to see your little one's heartbeat!!! I also measured behind with my previous pg's and was right on track with this one, so I think it's a great sign that you're measuring a little ahead. Hopefully it means this baby is here to stay!
