Yesterday's appointments... update...

Thanks to those of you who sent P&PT yesterday! The appointments went great. I spent 2 hours at the perinatologist's office. They followed up on the subchorionic hemorrhage and did a blood draw for thyroid again. The ultrasound was about 20 minutes long-- very extensive! There was NO SIGN of the SCH! I was relieved! She said, "the SCH is gone... no sign of it at all. Your placenta is very clean and looks healthy!" What a relief! They measured the nuchal trans too which was within normal range (1.4 cm). And the baby was kicking and waving! So cute! It was extending it's fingers out and in-- ten tiny little fingers! Then the u/s tech went down to the bum area and I said, "Are you looking for parts to determine gender?" She said, "I always do- I'm so curious!" And I said, "Can you tell this early?" She said that it's too early to declare with 100% accuracy but that she "hasn't been wrong yet"! When she got right between the legs, looking up onto the little bum cheeks-- it was OBVIOUS! There were BOY PARTS! Clear as day! She said, "Do you see what I see?" Then she pointed out the umbilical cord which was off to the side and said that the penis and scrotum were VERY prominent-- hard to miss-- and she'd put her money on a boy! OH MY GOSH! That's the last thing I expected to happen at a 12 week ultrasound! It was unbelievable! With my other babies, they'd never even go down there to look until 20 weeks. I have nurse friends who had access to early u/s and always knew early --saying you can tell as early as 10 weeks, but no one ever checked for gender that early on my babies! It was so awesome! So if she's right, we'll have 2 girls, 16 months apart and 2 boys, 20 months apart! AHHHHH! Crazy! I'm so excited!

So all looks well and if it continues to go well, it looks like we'll have another little boy in June!!! YAY!!

Glad to hear that the SCH is gone. That's amazing that they can most likely determine the sex at 12 weeks. Now your fam will be equal with 2 boys and 2 girls :)

That's such wonderful news and absolutely mind-boggling that they could see it was a little boy.
