The hip/tailbone thing

A new development this week - the hips are starting to get loose and my tailbone is being a big pain in my behind! Sleeping comfortably is not easy now. Every morning when I wake up, I feel like I've gotta crack my hips somehow (impossible - I've tried everything!). This did happen to me last time about the same time. Anyone else having these issues this early?

Oh, and amazingly I had energy today! Did some shopping, did some laundry, cooked a fabulous dinner, made a yummy dessert. Not sure what got into me, but I felt good! Yay!

Crystal-

My tailbone/sacrum hurt from about 6-10 weeks, but now its better, for some reason. I have a tilted uterus and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. My mom speculated that maybe because my uterus is tilted it was putting pressure on a nerve or something at the beginning...I don't know. But I do know its a yucky feeling. I was actually putting ice on it and that seemed to help.

My tail bone hasn't been bothering me too much. Off and on every so often. My hips are what kills me! If i sit for to long or put more pressure on one side than the other (especially the left) I get sore. If I sleep on one side at night for to long, I get sore. Congrats on getting a burst of energy! I could use one right about now! Yesterday I went christmas shopping and only lasted about 2 hours before I was tired, nauseous, and had a head ache! It will all pay off in 7.5 months thought!

I have had the hip/tailbone problem the entire pg, I had to go to my regular doctor for a manipulation and then to PT, I did find this post on the Jan '06 EC where I usually am and I thought I would share. I can say it has helped me A LOT! Especially at the end now.

In the morning, laying on your back (a neutral position), knees bent, put your fists next to eachother so that thumb sides are lined up. Put that between your knees and squeeze as hard as you can with your knees. Next, bring your knees together then hold your legs shut with your hands on either side of your knees while trying to push them apart. Do this 3 times at different positions. IE: Knees closed, a little farther open, a little farther still and then farther again. Next, do step 1 again. You can do this sitting with your feet flat on the ground if laying on your back is too painful, which is how I had to do it.

It doesn't always help, but it sometimes something clicks into place and it makes life a lot more bearable.

Before standing from a sitting position (with feet flat on the ground), do step one from above in a sitting position (the squeezing). It helps to line up your pelvic girdle. >>

Good Luck!
