Well, I got my blood work done and I am pregnant but the doctors won't make an appointment for me until I am 12 weeks. They do not even give you prenatals until you are eight weeks, That is the orientation day. I cannot do this, I feel like I am in limbo , I just want to know that all is well, they told me in the meantime, I can go to the er or the triage.......... I don't know what to do, I am so angry. You would think that after someone has a m/c at 12 1/2 weeks and almost bleeds to death gets four blood transfusions and has suffered a little could see someone to make sure everything is going ok........ I feel so angry, I just want to know my baby is ok. Am I an a-hole for feeling this way?!!!!! I hate this!

Andi,
Congrats again on your pregnancy.
You are not being unreasonable for expecting to see a doctor sooner than 12 weeks. Maybe it would be worth going to triage Can't they just call in a prescription for prenatals? Will your family doctor do that?
I'm sorry that they are adding to your stress level!

Andy you're definitely not an a-hole!! I think they are being a-holes. Can't you at least get an u/s at 8 weeks? Just to make sure everything is fine? My ob office did that for me at almost 8 weeks.
Also, you can get your prenatals OTC if you want. Mine are OTC I use One Source which is available at Wal-Mart. I mentioned them to my ob and she said those were fine to take. I like them because they're a little smaller, even though you have to take two instead of one of the big ones. That's fine with me because I hate those horse pills!!
But I would definitely call your ob's office if I were you and at least demand an u/s. Give your background as a reason why you would like something extra done for you. You're insurance would cover it anyway so I don't know what their problem is! Good luck!! Let me know how everything works out!
Hi Andi!
I hadn't seen your signature when I read your post and I thought "wonder if she is military." Then I see your DH in BDUs! Aha! I totally understand your frustration...you are not out of line at all. I wonder if you call your PCM (and not the clinic) if they can pull some strings and get you in ahead of schedule. May be worth a try-- especially given your history. The stupid way the military regulates pg is beyond me. Pgs are not cookie cutter events--you would think they would know that by now!
I am very fortunate now that my DH and I are nowhere near an MTF so we are considered Tricare Prime Remote--so we get to have the best of both worlds. We get to be seen at a great local hospital and still get to bill Tricare for it. I am counting my blessings daily for that!!
Hang in there and keep fighting. Lord knows they won't do anything for you if you don't!
Good luck and keep us posted!
Best,
Kris

I'd go to your PCM as well.
Hugs to you, Andi! I know after my m/c I just wanted some special attention and why was that so hard for the nurses and doctors to understand? I hope you are able to be seen sooner and your heart begins to ease.
Thinking of you!
Andi, welcome to my world.
Hi Andi:
I am so sorry you're going through this. My Dr. wouldn't see me until 8 wks and I was bawling!! I made a stink about it, I called and called, I asked to talk to him personally, etc, etc. I got an appt at 6 wks and then they tried cancelling, I made a stink again and they kept my appt, but I was ready to go and sit in the office until they took me in!!... Then about a week later I had some spotting, so I had to go see them again, they took me in right away.
I say keep calling, be persistent, get your prenatals over the counter. I hope they take you in sooner... let us know how it goes.
Hang in there Andi.
