I went in this morning for my follow up ultrasound after last weeks spotting. I was a nervous wreck, but I took my temp this morning, just to ease my mind, and it was 98.5, which is right were it should be. After waiting for the u/s machine to warm up the tech came in and started the exam, she started measuring and asked me when i was last scanned, so i told her last week and then asked her if she saw anything cause she just kept measuring stuff. Then she got out her book and look at mine from last week, and said "well the sac has grown since last week, but i still dont see anything, let me go talk to your doctor and see what we are going to do" So as i layed there not knowing what to think, all i could say to myself was at least the sac has grown. It is measuring 5 weeks and 5 days, but last weeks she said i was around 5.5 weeks too..so i was really confused. When she came back I thought for sure she was going to tell me to go get my beta drawn again, but she didnt. I have to go back nex wednesday and have another ultrsound, she said that one would be the last one, if they dont see anything then its not a viable pregnancy. I guess that means i have a 50/50 chance

They are still going of my LMP of November 5th, even thought i have told them several times that i didnt ovulate until Nov 27-30, so would 5 weeks and 5 days be right on track for that??? Should they have seen more then just the yok sac?? Do you think there is still some hope for my little miracle??

Courtney,

I can only draw from my experience, but my midwife had me wait until 8 weeks before having an ultrasound because at that point I would definately see a heartbeat.

Courtney,

Especially since you think you ovulated later than the doctor's are guessing, I would certainly hold out hope that next week's ultrasound shows something - hopefully a little h/b.

I agree with everyone else, don't give up! It is still early and with the confusion around when you O'd it is very possible that it's just too early to tell. My Dr. also doesn't "confirm" that the baby is there and ok or not until 8 weeks since by then you can actually see the baby and hb. Earlier than that it's common just to see a sac. I hope this is a false scare and you are just a little earlier than they think.. ((HUGS)) Hang in there!

Thanks for the support ladies, its been a rollercoaster over the last week. I am not going to give up hope, i keep trying to tell myself to be strong and believe in this little baby. It grew from last week, so i need to keep reminding myself that.

Kate-Thanks for looking back at my chart, you eased my mind by letting me know that those 11 days could make a huge difference and things could be good for where I am at right now if i did O later then I thought. Im going to take my chart in with me next time I go and make them look at it, before i let them tell me things arent good, if they are going just by my LMP date.

Thanks for the support!
