Well, I really wanted to convince myself that I could get through this morning sickness, but who was I trying to convince...it was 24/7 sickness :(

Hi, Sarah.

WIth this baby (#3), the m/s was so bad that I stayed in bed for 2 months straight. I did take zofran, but it didn't work for me. I guess it cut down on some of the vomitting, but I was still vomitting & nauseous if I moved around. For some, it is a wonder drug. I then tried phenegran (as a suppository) & that worked, though it made me drowsy. After around 17 weeks, I then went back to 1/2 tablet unisom at night - I'm still nauseous if I don't take that.

With #2, I took zofran & unisom - very happy, smart 2 year old today.

With #1, I only took the unisom - ditto, but a boy.

It seems like for me, each pregnancy just gets worse m/s-wise. I'm glad this is the last.

Good luck.

I took Zofran for all day sickness with this baby. I started it around 8 weeks and am still on it. The nausea is much better now but I still take the Zofran because I'm scared not to. It never stopped the nausea but it did cut down on the vomitting. I took the kind that dissolve on your tongue which was much easier than swallowing a pill.

Good luck and hang in there. It will get better!

Sarah,

I take Zofran every day still (I'll be 25 weeks on Friday) It helped cut down on the vomitting but I was still a bit queasy. Then I started taking Ginger along with the Zofran just in the morning. I stopped vomitting completely after just 3 days of taking both.

I started out on Zofran 3x each day. I also take the kind that dissolves in your mouth.

I am now taking Zofran and Ginger in the morning and one more Zofran around 2pm. I very rarely have to take the evening dose and some days I can even skip the 2pm dose. Although on those days I do find that after dinner I don't feel my best.

But for me, the combonation of both seems to do the trick.

With my last one I took Zofran up until the day I delivered. I am thinking that it will be the same with this little guy too. With my other ones I was just sick until I gave birth.

Try some ginger along with the zofran. It can't hurt.

HTH,
Hugs,
Donna

I'm so sorry you're so ill. I had to take Zofran with DS from 7 wks until delivery. And he's just fine. The Zofran didn't help with this one (surprisingly) so I have been taking phenergan around the clock. THe nv hasn't been nearly as severe this time, though it's still classified as hyperemesis. I haven't lost weigh this pg and managed to stay out of the hospital. I just wanted to let you know that Zofran is fine to take. Many women have taken it and they can't find any associationg between it and abnormalities at birth. Hang in there.

I have never tried Zofran, only Emetrol. Emetrol is pretty much just a sugary syrup and safe to take during pregnancy. I don't know if that would help you or not but it might be worth a try. I hope you feel better soon.
