Hi, there! I just wanted to know if any of you 1st-trimesters have decided to start a workout regime now that your pg? I've worked out only a handful of times in the past year (I used to all the time before DS was born), so I am pretty out of shape, muscle-wise, and was thinking about starting to workout again. All I've heard is that you really shouldn't start anything new that you haven't already been doing (which I haven't done squat in a long time), but has anyone ever heard of toning up while pg??? Is it ok or even possible? I'm also a little extra scared since I mc'd in Nov. I guess I should ask my dr., but I don't see him for another week or 2. I would really like to tone up some flab areas while I still can, but if it's going to be a problem, it's not worth it. All I know is that after I had my DS, the body SURE DOES CHANGE! Everything is saggy, so I can only imagine what it'll be like after #2! ack! I know, I know...I should've done this BEFORE I got pg!

TIA for any advice!

I used to run, but now I walk. Sometimes twice a day for 30 minutes each time with the treadmill set to 3.5. I actually think the activity eases my m/s sometimes. I'm no expert, but I've heard the same things you have about starting an exercise routine while pg - you shouldn't. I have heard it is great to start a walking program though. Maybe you could start with that and when you see the dr. ask him/her how much is ok.

During the 1st T, my OB suggested I take it easy, considering my history.
