Had Ultrasound at 11 weeks for AFP type
| Sun, 02-05-2006 - 8:02pm |
Last Week I went in for a 11 week ultrasound. They did a finger prik blood test that hurt just a little and a detailed ulrasound of the baby to look for fluid behind the baby's neck (together these two tests will give a reading for chromosomal problems, Trisomy 18 kind of like the AFP test but earlier.)
I was happy to see my baby on the screen with that little heart beat. It was a beautiful picture. For some reason, I am still a little guarded in my emotions but slowly opening up. I will probably be better after the 18 week ultrasound. (as I lost my last one at 18 weeks for unknown reason.)
Please send some prayers my way.
Hugs,
Monica

That is great news! I have my nt u/s on Friday and am hoping all goes well. I feel very guarded regarding my pregnancy too. It's hard not to when you have experienced a loss or losses.
