Is it safe to sleep on my stomach?

I know it's generally not good to sleep on your stomach, but I often do it anyway. I've been trying to get in the habit of sleeping on my side, but sometimes (like last night) I wake up on my stomach. Can that do any harm this early on? I'm not sure what to do to prevent it because, once I'm asleep, I have a hard time controlling my position. I would assume that the problem fixes itself once you have a preggo belly :) Anyway, do you girls know if it is bad for the baby at this early stage to sleep in this position?
Thanks!

Andi,
Right now I think it is fine. You will know when you shouldn't be sleeping on your stomach any more - it will feel weird and uncomfortable. I was about 10 weeks or so when I started to feel like I couldn't. At this point, everything is still so small it really wouldn't affect the baby. In my opinion, I don't think there is anything you should worry about...except getting a good night's sleep!
Congratulations on your pg!

I slept on my tummy until around 16w, usually w/my one leg bent out so I wasnt totallly on my belly.

Andi,
When I was pregnant with Bethanie I wouldn't sleep on my stomach but I would sometimes lay on my stomach so I could feel her move around and kick.
