Yikes! 8 wks and 2-pound gain!

I just weighed myself this morning, and I have gained 2 pounds already :( I have been really, really sedentary mainly because I was afraid any kind of exercise would harm the baby. Also, although I have had some nausea, I feel better while I'm eating, so I guess I've been eating a lot!

I'm starting to feel a little more confident that I don't have to be quite so careful, so I think I'll start doing my fat-burning prenatal yoga DVD today. I really don't want to gain too much. I went into this pregnancy about 8 pounds heavier than I would have liked, so I was really hoping to try to stick to gaining 25 pounds at the most!

Oh, and I'm already in early-stage maternity pants, by the way. I can't fit into even my fat pants! I mean, I can put them on, but they get really uncomfortable after I'm sitting down for a while. Yikes!

If you feel discouraged by the weight gain... think of me :)

Kate, 13 pounds at 20 weeks doesn't sound bad to me. I have a friend who gained 20 pounds in the first trimester! Just think of her when you want to feel better. I know what you mean about the junk food. For some reason, my pregnancy cravings so far are almost exclusively fast food, which I usually rarely eat. I ate fries from McDonalds twice this week, and I had to fight the urge to go get them again yesterday.

Maybe the next time at the doctor's office I'll wear only mesh clothes to make me lighter ;) Good idea!

When I wanted your belly shot, that was a totally different situation! You had a flat belly to start with, so your pooch was definitely a pregnant belly. I had a round belly that kind of poked out to begin with, and now it's just poking out a tiny bit more. I am too embarrassed to post a picture of a round belly that is basically just fat and call it a belly shot ;) Give me until 10 weeks, and then I might be brave enough!
