2nd blood draw!
17

Well ladies! I got my second draw back and I lost it!!

First at 15DPO was 108

Second at 17DPO was 205

So I almost started to cry on the phone with the nurse and she said "Sweet heart please come in on Monday for another blood test!" I was freaking out becuase they did not double and like Tara said I do not feel pregnant today. Well I stopped and let my ratoional side take over!

If I was to double then I would have been at 216, which I am only a few numbers off from that! So I am thinking postive. I then went on line and took a look at HCG levels in early pregnancy. The first three sites I found told me this

At 17 DPO, the average HCG level is 132 mIU/ml, with a typical range of 17-429 mIU/ml.

So I am above the avearage!! I almost doubled and that is a good thing!!

Also I have to keep thinking that I am onlyh 4Weeks and 2 days pregnant. Most women have no idea that they are pregnant yet! So symptoms will come and go and then they will start to get worse. Also I have been laying in bed all morning, so of course the symptoms are not that bad, but get up and move around and they really kick in!

So moral to my long winded up date is that everything is going to be fine!!

HUgs to you all

It is so unfair that those of us that have to work a little harder to get pregnant find out so darn early.

Hey Jenn!

I wont say dont worry because being pregnant and a PAL, worry comes with the territory :-) However, when I had my levels checked also very early my Dr told me to not count on the numbers doubling with a 48 hour draw. So if you had your draws at 15DPO and 17DPO I think you look good. Like you said, your above the average. Also, My dr said that not everyone doubles in 48 hours sometimes it takes 72 or more hours to double, doubling in 48 hours is just sort of the "general" guideline. She said that as long as the number increases 60% with a draw every other day then they are very happy with that.....that would mean you only needed to be at like 172 or 173 so you are above that....hang in there sweetie, I know it is so rough! It is also SUPER normal

Jenn, I know how scary it can be when you don't hear exactly what you thought you would, but it sounds like you are in the right frame of mind now. At this point in pregnancy the numbers are so low that it can sometimes be hard to realize that you have made progress. I am sure the next set of bloodwork will be fantastic. I'm hoping you have enough early pregnancy symptoms (morning sickness, sore boobs, fatigue...) to give you confidence that this pregnancy will be fine, but not too bad that you are miserable and can't enjoy it. Hugs,

Stephanie
