Okay I made it over here. I'm not happy about what's going on at TTCAM. I never felt pushed off there but I realized we were inadvertanly hurting people. But now there is so much uproar, I feel pretty badly even though at this point I don't think there is anything that can be done to "fix" the situation.
For those who will be joining us I miscarried my first 9 years ago. Went on to have 3 healthy kids (although very difficult pregnancies) and then had a missed miscarriage in Feb at 10 weeks (baby stopped growing at 6 weeks). So even though I have some pregnancy symptoms and I obsessively check TP, it still doesn't make me feel any better since I had ALL of that the last round. Also the two that I lost I got very faint lines that took a long time to show but the three I carried to term where dark very quickly. This one was very faint again so I'm completely neurotic about that as well (despite many reassurance from people on and off the boards).
Tomorrow I go for my confirmation appointment with my Dr. (I'm a bit later than most here because of my fears about the lines I couldn't even work up the nerve to call the doctor for several days) EDD is 12/17 or 12/18.
Well I am hoping to join you guys here on this thread. I was just starting to post on the other tread before we had to move it. I am feeling pretty good. Pretty exhausted from a very busy weekend.
I too got a 3rd beta draw today as well. I dont know my exact numbers from last week but they didn't double but my midwife said she was happy with them and they almost doubled. So I should get my results tomorrow from today's beta.
Jenn, some people take 48-72 hours to double so I think your doing okay! I will be thinking of you...
Hi ladies Well, I'm at 4w5d today - that's only one more day before 5 weeks!!! I have given myself a rule of only ONE peek at the tp each time. None of this repetitive checking and also doing someone another online friend suggested - countering each negative thought with a positive one (eg. I met a friend I havent' seen for 4 months and she has a big belly and is 6 months along so instead of just indulging in depression that I would never get there I imagined it was me!)
I am trying to keep distracted but totally lost it yesterday and was full of gloom because I don't feel AT ALL ill yet. I know its too early but sometimes its not rational.
So I am clearly not in the 1st tri anymore, but I wanted to pop in here and give you girls a big welcome! This board is an awesome place for support and I hope you all get to spend a wonderful 6 - 9 months here! I've had 3 1st tri m/c's, I took progesterone 2x daily and am on baby aspirin with this pg, seems to be working!! It really does get easier, for me it was once 20 wks hit and I started feeling the baby move. The 1st tri can be so hard, but hang in there! The further along you get the faster it seems to go by, so enjoy being pregnant as much as you can!
A 1st tri tip...If you have really bad m/s like I did, you might try carrying a freezer ziploc bag (the heavy duty ones!) around "just in case" you get sick out in public. That happened to me several times with very little warning, it would have been way more embarrassing if I didn't have it!
I hope all your appts go well and you keep getting good news and get to see and hear those heartbeats!
Oh, I just wanted to ask, what vitamins or supplements are you guys on? I don't have a prenatal vitamin yet just folic acid, cod-liver oil and progesterone 100mg. I guess I should go out shopping for something.... I just hate taking so many tablets each day.
I am so happy that you started this post. Well I went back to work today after having a relaxing 4 days off and told my job that I am having twins! I thought my boss was going to pass out but he kept it together and could not be happier for me. I just needed to tell them since it is possible I will be having more doctors appointments and sonograms then before. I am tired and Tara my boobs hurt too!!!
Shannon to answer your question I take promise stages vitamins (promisestages.com) it is one small prenatal vitamin and one omega 3 essentials. The good thing about these vitamins is that for every trimester you get the vitamins you need at that stage and I love them! I have a hard time swallowing those horse pills and these just work so well for me. I take them at night, since my m/s is pretty bad in the AM so I want to keep all the nutrients I can.
Please keep me in your prayers since I have my next sonogram on the 28th. They are looking for the membrane between the sack to make sure the twins are in 2 sacks, but if they are in one sack there can be complications and I just pray each and every night that they will find the membrane and the twins will be ok!!
I take a daily prenatal, flax seed oil, fish oil and extra b vitamins (I'm a vegetarian so I like to make sure I get all the b vitamins and essential fatty acids in), and I started taking calcium and iron supplements a couple months ago. I'm also on baby aspirin until 36 wks and now meds for my blood pressure. I know taking tons of pills everyday can be a total pain, especially in the 1st tri, they made me so sick! When I was really sick, I just made sure I took the essentials like the baby aspirin and my prenatal and skipped the extra stuff. I get Nature Made prenatals in bulk at Costco, they're great!
