Ok today is the first day I can say I felt icky. I woke up and my stomach was all acidy feeling. So I took my B-6 (suppose to help with morning sickness) today. We went to visit friends today and I was so tired driving there this morning I just wanted to take a nap. Then the kids played outside for 4 hours. I felt pretty good around lunch time and the icky feeling had passed but after spending 4 hours in the fresh air I was completely wiped out driving back home. I tried and tried to get my daughter to take a nap but she just kept singing and playing with my hair. Finally I fell asleep about 4 and woke up around 4:30. Boy I felt worse after the nap and the icky feeling had returned so I took some more B-6. It's 2 1/2 hours later and I still feel like I'm in the half asleep groggy state. I'll probably really wake up just when it's time for bed. Hope everyone had a great day.
Today was the 1st day I have been starving! It started this morning, I had eggs, bacon, homefries and toast. Then I wanted something light so I had some soup and then the girl I work with went to the doctor and on her way back bought me chicken Mcnuggets and sweet and sour sauce YUM!! Then after that I had a small bag of carrots and celery and two oranges and then tonight I ate 3 sausages, peppers and broccoli and lets not forget the bread. Could you say the twins were hungry today??
Holy moly ladies. You've got quite the thread going here. Thought I'd pop in and post.
I m/c'd my first BFP in Aug 05. Now I'm 4wks 3 days today. I'm due Dec 26th according to FF and Dec 27th according to my doc who used my chart. So whichever.
I've been a little crampy on and off. That's kind of scared me. I sometimes can tell if they are number 2 cramps or baby building cramps. Plus, ***WARNING, TMI COMING ***, I'm kind of afraid to bear (?) down while going #2. I guess I'm afraid I'll hurt something down there.
Anyone else a freak like me? Anyone else have cramps? I don't have a backache like I had during the m/c so that's good.
Peggy, this is the beauty of sharing TMI. (OK, maybe "beauty" isn't the right word in this case.) I'm often embarrassed to reveal some info about my bodily functions or sex life or whatever, but then I'm always glad when I do because someone can always relate. Yes there is a point to this rambling: I am also afraid of "bearing down." I guess I'm afraid that I'll push the baby right out. Ridiculous! What makes me feel better when I have this particular worry is thinking of all the pregnant women who are constipated (most of them) and who have to strain to go #2. I think it's a common event that won't hurt anything. Logical or not though, I'm with you on that worry!
I'm glad to see you joining in here. Like I already told you, I really think those cramps are probably totally normal implantation or growing or whatever cramps. I'll be glad when they go away though just because I know it worries you.
I have even at a measely 4wks and 3 days felt guilty about not eating when I'm hungry. On the other hand if I eat every time I'm hungry I'll turn into the good year blimp! The ladies in my family don't get a cute little belly pregnancy. Oh no! They get this all over body pregnancy where everything gets fats. Your neck (can't wait for that), feet, legs, arms, face, well, you get the idea.
So anything I can do to prevent that or at least lessen the blow I'm going to do. I've been pretty good about eating well so far but it hasn't been that long.
DH is a vegetarian but he has recently started eating seafood. So I'm worried I'll get too much mercury in my system and not enough iron. And of course not enough water either. Why doesn't water taste better anyway? I mean it is refreshing and all but hello?! We could use some flavor!
What are you guys eating for breakfast? Normally I just have a piece of fruit and MAYBE a glass of milk or cottage cheese. I'm betting this will change soon as my hunger pain get more ravenous.
There was a link on either this board or TTCAM that showed which types of fish were ok to eat during pg but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere.
It's funny you mention about water not tasting good. I'm the exact opposite. Given a choice of any beverage water is my FIRST choice (except first thing in the morning). It's even better when I squeeze a slice of fresh lemon into it but I usually only have that when we go out to eat. I love water. Milk is nasty and juices and sodas have always been two sweet for me. I've tried diluting them but then they just taste like diluted sugar water. When I was younger I drank soda etc but swithed to water with my first pregnancy 9 years ago. My taste buds adjusted and it's been water ever since for me.
As far as breakfast, my stomach is always pretty gurgly first thing in the morning (even when not pregnant) and it's the only time I don't drink water. I drink Big Train brand CHocolate Chai Tea that I put into milk instead of water so I get some protein and calcium. It's kinda like hot chocolate but not so sweet as it has cinnamon and some other spices in it. Big Train is the ONLY brand of Chai Tea I will drink. After that my tummy is settled and I go on to eat whatever appeals to me. I know as I get farther along, even this willb e too sweet for me and then I usually start my morning with a cup of broth or soup (I really like the asian/thai noodle bowls that are made with rice noodles). I live on those for about a month when morning sickness is at it's worst.
I'm not a big breakfast person and my desire to eat breakfast actually lessons during pregnancy. However, I usually end up eating lunch between 10-11 when I finally start to feel like I need some food.
As far as eating during the night, I avoid it at all costs. For me I learned that once I started eating during the night, I couldn't stop. Kinda like my body (or maybe baby) got the idea that once it got me started it should expect a snack every night. And I really don't like getting up every night to eat. So I would avoid it and after a few days I wouldn't wake up in the night to eat anymore (pee yes, eat no). Dont' worry I PROMISE you are not starving baby. At this stage, they say baby only needs less than 300 calories a day. I know our bodies act like they need a whole lot more than this but medically they say it doesn't. So don't feel guilty if you choose the nice warm covers over a snack. No harm done.
