For those asking questions about the Baby Beat Doppler:

The info says that you can hear the heartbeat starting at 8 weeks, with almost everyone hearing it around 10-12 weeks.

Yikes, today its my turn to have a worry day. Yesterday and this morning I haven't felt as ill. I still have gagging and all the other symptoms but I just don't feel ILL. I know this should be a refreshing break and if I feel absolutely foul tomorrow it will have been, but right now I just want to feel absolutely unable to eat anything for a while... to settle my nerves.

Now I am worried about my u/s on Friday.

Oh, and to top it all my son announced to all his preschool friends (and their listening moms) that "mommy is growing a baby in her tummy". Its the last thing I wanted broadcast right now.

Bex,

I didn't notice my posted until you pointed them out to me. I'm laughing so hard right now. Hey, just let me know when you need him and I'll send him right to you. I promise. LOL

Shannon, I'm sending some ill vibes your way. I have plenty to spare.

Sorry Frost broke the news early. At least now you won't have to act like you don't feel crappy when you do feel crappy. Which, will likely come back soon, especially given my morning sickness poll. The median last time I checked was at 13/14 weeks with half of the respondents losing their m/s 14 weeks or LATER and half losing it 13 weeks or earlier.

If that's normal, then I don't want to be normal! Healthy, yes, normal. No way. I can't do this for that long. I'm just a total whimp compared to you BTDT moms.

I am feeling better with some toast and plain rice staying down. So those ill vibes should be arriving shortly.

Peggy,

I just have to say the good news about having moring sickness is that you don't know in advance how long it will last. Everyday seems like an eternity when your sick. With both of my boys the morning sickness didn't let up till 15-16 weeks. But I didn't know that at week 8 or 9 and just kept talking myself through it each day. 8 months before I got pregnant with my daughter I had surgery on my stomach. Let me tell you stomachs do NOT heal in 8 months. I had severe ALL day sickness with her until two days AFTER she was before. I am very thankful I didn't know it would be that bad in advance. I never would have survived. Just do your best to get through each day and don't think about how much longer it will be. Thinking about it just makes it worst.

Here is some things that helped me.

Schweppes (not any other brand) Ginger Ale (for variety I added fresh squeezed lemon juice or melted raspberry sherbert or marachino cherry juice)

Salty Broths (since it's hard to find many flavors in the regualr broth section, I resorted to buying ramen noodles, and the asian rice noodles and just using the spice packet- although sometimes I could eat the rice noodles as they are very bland)

Fresh Pickle Juice (I know this may sound gross but just a sip or two really settled my stomach like nothing else (think salt) would but you want the pickles from the refrigerator section not the nasty canned stuff on the shelf)

Fresh apple juice (again not the processed stuff, nice fresh stuff in the refrigerator or from a local grower- if you have local farmer's markets) I do have to dilute it with a little bit of water to cut the sweetness

Bacardi Strawberry Daquiri mix (obviously without alcohol) I had to use twice the water but it was oh so good.

Olives, Pickles, Pretzels, Sour Gummi Livesavers (I eat about half a bag a day right now), and most anything I don't have to cook (smells get to me terribly), candied ginger.

Also just keeping some candy in mouth at all times helps keeps the nasty taste away and if I can keep that away the nausea seems to stay at bay too.

So try something salty as that seems to help alot of people here. Hope these ideas help you some cause I know how it sucks to be so sick. ALso consider asking your doctor for medicine if things really get out of control and don't be afraid to ask again if the first one doesn't work. (they usually prescirbe the cheapy stuff first but for me those didn't do anything but make me tired)

Hi gals:

Shannon: sorry about Frost spilling the beans but he was probably so excited and maybe a bit proud ??!! :D

Just wanted to let you girls know that I had my 2nd blood draw yesterday and the numbers came back perfect as compared to last week's draw. They didn't even retest my prog since it was 57 last week (high).

Jenn, I am getting mine tomorrow and I will be 9weeks 4days! I'll let you know if I have any success, but I'm trying to keep in mind it might not happen for another week or so. I don't want to panic more, but at the same time I can't stand an entire week of agonizing over the spotting I had. So hopefully it will be reassuring and not a mistake!

Good luck with yours and happy almost birthday!

Also, congrats to Sandy on your #s - I felt the same way about mine so don't worry. I was elated and then immediately thought about how high my #s were when I found out about the missed m/c. I was reassured by the u/s a few weeks later, but then I'm already freaked out again. It's a constant cycle!

Lots of SBVs to all,
Cassi
