What a FABULOUS siggy!!!!! Seriously, I'm pretty proud of it considering it's only the 2nd one I've ever made!!! It's so fun! Oh, and about the skin issues: I don't know which is worse, connect-the-dots or the one GINORMOUS "blemish" on my chin right now.
Hi Ladies, Im back from Vegas!! Actually I got back a few days ago but I have been so exhausted from the trip. I think I am caught up on the thread. I am glad to see everyone seems to be doing well, so for all the appointments I missed CONGRATS!!
Vegas was great!! It was my first visit to Vegas and there was so much to see. I didn't get to do everything I wanted but I had a blast. I even had a drink. A frozen virgin strawberry daiquiri. mmmmm!!
A co worker does the ring thing to predict the gender. She has never been wrong. She has done it on me before and she was right. So today I got the courage up and we gave it a shot today and it looks like we might be having a boy!! My son wants a brother so if it true he will be thrilled. Well see in a few months.
I also have my first ob appointment today. I am hoping we can hear the heartbeat since we are 10 weeks today.
Hmm...I can't see the pics either. Hopefully they weren't too big or the wrong format. I have no idea how photobucket or ivillage work!
Jenn - congrats on your wonderful mother's day and you too Peggy! I got no card or good wishes from DH, but I think he felt guilty later on because his own sister called to wish me a happy day. My mom also got me a card with some money for maternity clothes and my friend got me a basket with some spa stuff, so I can't complain too much.
I am really frustrated with the doppler thing because I tried again last night at 10weeks2days and still no luck!! I knew it wouldn't stress me out because I just did the u/s, but I don't think I can try again for another couple of weeks so I don't worry if it still doesn't work. How are you guys doing it? Laying down, standing up, sitting? Are you doing it with a full stomach or full bladder? Are you finding it close to the bellybutton or close to the pubic bone?
I am doing it laying down after dinner and I can hear lots of womb noises as well as my own heartbeat loud and strong in several different places. I almost wonder if my heart is covering up the sound because it's so loud.
Anyway, any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Does it make anyone else feel crampy or hot? That kind of worries me too, so I try not to do it for very long.
On a separate note, I hope Mel is ok - I can't find her update anywhere and she hasn't emailed me! Crossing all my fingers and toes for her...
I am so glad the doppler worked, Tara. I know some people take ages to find the hb and its great that you were in luck. I hope its going to be easy from now on and DH really enjoys the show. Oh, and the siggy is CUTE. I am thinking of updating mine soon but it never seems like The Day.
Anyway, I am feeling like the party pooper. In your posts it sounds like everyone is excited and telling people and starting to relax but I am still completely anxious. I guess its because my second loss I had weekly u/s like this till 11 weeks and only on the last one was there bad news. Right now I still analyse my symptoms to death and have ridiculous days of fearing the worst because of vague differences. Eg. yesterday I was despondent because I have had lots of CM since I was pregnant and it vanished. I seem to remember something similar last time. Of course, this could be due to the change in progesterone suppositories at the same time. Ugh. Almost 9 weeks sounds so far along when you are TTC but right now it still feels only-just-there!
Oh, my appointment for Friday has been rescheduled for Thursday afternoon because of a school conflict. So, one less day of nail-biting. My first OB appointment is on Thursday week so this MAY be my last u/s at the RE whom I feel so comfortable with.
By contrast, the OB's office freaks me out. On one visit I even backed my car into a pillar in the garage. Its always full of 3rd trimester ladies and the u/s takes place in the same room that I found out about 3 prior losses and had two D&Cs. Plus, the nurse practitioners are always changing so I don't feel "safe" like the RE's. Its just not happy-fun-land for me. I have thought of changing OBs but I really really like this practice and they know me well.
Oh, I forgot to tell you guys about Mother's Day. My fiance got me a card for a new mom to be and and scrapbook for the new baby. And my son got me a Yankee Candle and the nicest card. I thought that was sweet of them to think of the baby too.

Cass - I'm sorry DH didn't do anything for you for Mother's Day.
