Are you ladies having sex in the first tri? I want to have sex but I'm worried. Okay, sometimes I don't want to have sex. But I don't want to be celibate for 9 months!
We have done it only one time since conception, and that was 2 weeks ago. I was way too nervous before that, but when we finally did it (so to speak) it was nice. I know DH would like some action (poor guy), and I'm trying to get up the energy/mood this weekend. I feel bad that it sounds like it's a chore. It's really not that. I just feel kind of queasy all the time, and I feel fat and yucky because I'm bloated or getting fatter or whatever is going on at this point. I have a feeling it will get better in the next month or so. I hope to feel hotter when I have an actual baby belly and not just a flabby belly, and I don't think the nausea will last too much longer.
If you are feeling up to it, I say go for it. I did ask my nurse about it early on, and she said the only reason she could think of that I should be nervous is the small possibility that the prostaglandins in semen could dilate my cervix. She said it wasn't really anything to be worried about, but if it would make me feel better to use condoms. We did use a condom the one time we did it, which seemed completely stupid since I'm pregnant. It did make me feel better though, and not having any spotting afterwards made me feel even better.
Ahhhh yes, the sex talk!

Peggy,
It's just our PAL paranoia --- I've always been told having sex won't save or ruin a pregnancy.
