Hi Molly
I am so glad things are looking this good. I know if it wasn't for your history you would be feeling very confident, and even so you have never been this far along so I bet that your odds are really good! You doctor certainly seems to think so.
I hope the CVS goes easily. Do they actually get the genetic results back in a week? I can't believe you'll know the gender.
I have my 9w 2d u/s tomorrow afternoon and then I leave my RE. When do you you switch back to your OB from the RE?

Hi Shannon,
I will actually get preliminary results (90-95% accuracy)

Wow, that's amazing. I can see how you would feel anxious but you know that your odds of genetic problems are almost all due to your translocation and in the past losses due to that problem have occurred earlier. Plus, many people in your family have had healthy kids with the same background so it is looking really positive.
When I was pregnant with Frost my NTS and AFP tests predicted a 1:20 chance of down syndrome and the GC recommended amnio. I scheduled it but didn't do it in the end. They said it would take 2 weeks for results (this was 5 years ago)!

I love hearing your updates!! This is such wonderful news and I love to know that fact that your little bean is going to be born in December!! THat is so very cool that you get to know the sex so soon!
Molly, I am so glad to hear about your baby's A+ score. I am so happy for you! I really think your CVS is going to look great, and I can't wait to hear what the sex is.
Thanks for sharing the photos. You have one very cute baby there!

Molly,
What a great update!

CVS is chorionic villus testing - a genetic testing procedure like amnio but conducted in the first trimester. Molly explained in another post that she is having this done because she has a balanced translocation:

This puts her at higher risk for genetic abnormalities in the baby.
