Holy bloating batman! I came home from work today cause I felt crappy and have a sore throat to boot from my boston trip. And ooooh my gosh! My stomach and entire digestive track is FULL of air! It won't go away. I don't have any antacids in the house but I'm not sure if you can take them anyway.
To be clear, I blame this on my mother. She has always had painful won't budge gas. I do too but only very occasionally. Maybe pregnancy will tip me more towards my Mom's end of the gassiness scale?! I sure hope not.
I'm gonna have to tie my feet to a string and the string to something sturdy or I'll float away!
Fess up time: Okay, maybe it is the crappy food I had today?! I don't know but this stinks. Not literally yet cause it's all sitting in my gut but hopefully soon. What a gross thing to hope for but this has gotta go!
Oh don't worry, I'm not going anywhere yet! At least I can't leave this chat until we start a new one over there. I can't believe the moment is nearly here, though. I've seen a few people on this board who lost angels at 11 weeks and 6 days or 12 weeks, so that kind of freaks me out. But having a doppler to double check is a godsend.
BTW - I can relate to everyone's gassy stories! I am usually yelling at DH for being a disgusting pig about his gas (I swear he needs to see a dr.) but now he can turn it around on me.
Just a suggestion Peggy...Malox + Gas-x tablets really worked for me when my bloating was incredibly painful. They are horrible pink chalky things, but they help with any foods that don't sit well.
Yay for Kathy's news! All this happy news is what keeps me going in the face of Melanie's heartache. She was 9 weeks, but apparently the baby stopped developing 2 or 3 weeks earlier. I know she's sort of in shock mode and not writing right now, but I'm sure it would mean a lot to hear your and Jen's best wishes. Last night DH was telling me about two women at the bowling alley he plays at who are very pg and still chain smoking! It makes me so sick to think women as selfish as them go on to have their babies while devoted mothers who do everything right lose theirs. It's just not fair!
But enough of my downer for the day. Let's hope the good news keeps coming our way.
Peggy - I hope your gas is relieved soon, that sounds awful.
Jen-ay - I loved the visual I got of you jiggling your belly to hear the h/b. Your little bean was probably napping, and going "okay okay, I'm up, I'm up!"
Jenn - your camping trip sounds fun!
Sandy - your beach house sounds dreamy.
Tara - the "Mommy tooted!" story was hilarious!
Cassi - congrats on being so close to the 2nd tri!
Crystal - good luck with the first OB appt - yay!
Carolyn - how are all you girls eating and eating and not gaining weight? What's your secret? And thanks for the hot dog/bacon info. I've had both, and had no idea they have been thought to be a problem. I just had bacon in my salad at lunch! Glad it shouldn't be a problem.
Lisa - your blood disorder sounds scary, but it sounds like a good thing that it has been detected and can be treated. Keep us posted.
Shannon - thinking of you and hope your appt went well!
Bex - huge ((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) on your EDD. I feel ya girl - I'll be in the same boat on Saturday.
I am SOOOOOOOO excited about Kath's BFP! I hope she and Julie join the chat soon.
As for me, I'm glad to hear the symptoms can come and go. I am constantly poking and grabbing my boobs to make sure they're sore. DH is entertained! They're usually not very sore in the morning, but they gradually get worse throughout the day. Taking my bra off is agony!
Also went to acupuncture today. She asked if she should treat my nausea, and I said no. Isn't that crazy?! But I didn't have any nausea with my angel, so it reassures me this time. I did tell her she could treat my digestion issues. I'm a pretty regular girl, but now I'm all over the map. I just hate the feeling of needing to go, but never knowing what's going to come out, if anything! Sorry if that's TMI.....
I've very excited to see Kathy and Julie here. Welcome and Congrats!!!!
I have no idea when I start my second tri. All I know is I'll be 12 weeks on Monday. I'm so excited. I've never made it this far.
How's everyone feeling today? I'm sick and tired of gagging and dry heaving everytime I brush my teeth. I'm obsessed with clean teeth. I'm the type of person who needs to brush like 4 times a day. I have the hardest time right now even getting it done twice a day. It's killing me. My m/s hasn't been that bad the last couple days, but of course kicked into full gear last night and still feel yucky.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I know I can't wait. A nice long weekend. YAY!!!
