Hi Julie,

For me, I really started to let myself believe that I really was pregnant around 10 weeks. We had a good u/s at 8 weeks and saw a heartbeat but I still just wasn't there yet. I had another one a couple of weeks later and saw that things were still good and then it finally sunk in for me.

I am at 10 weeks, 1 day and still don't believe it. I take out the u/s pic everyday and look at it but I just can't bring myself to put it up on the fridge. We haven't told anyone. I think we are going to wait until after our CVS results come back at week 13 or so. Or maybe not! Seriously, I don't know what my problem is!

Hi, Julie. I really didn't start to feel significant symptoms until about 6-1/2 weeks. I had a hard time connecting with the pregnancy before that because I hadn't had the ultrasound yet to confirm that this was a viable pregnancy and had no symptoms either. After the ultrasound and then the nausea set it, the baby started to feel much more real. I was a basketcase those first couple of weeks though because I was so afraid that the lack of symptoms was a bad sign. I can understand how you feel!

I'll let you know when it happens. I still can't go into a baby store without feeling like a fraud.

I'm guessing things will get better in the 2nd tri. The "believability factor" should go up when I start noticing more of a belly too.

Julie, it's perfectly normal for this to be surreal to you right now. It took me a really long time to believe it but taking baby steps toward allowing myself to get excited helped! Every time I had another US, or passed my milestone, or saw the beginings of a belly and especially the first time I felt him/her move helped me to let my guard down a little and really believe that I have a baby in there!!! Now I'm almost 19wks and will get to find out soon what the sex is and can truely say that without a doubt, I AM PREGNANT!!!!

It's so hard being a PAL but time heals a lot. The further along you get, the better you'll start to feel!

P.S. I still check the tp!!! It's become such a habit now! Lately though I've noticed that I forget to sometimes and that excites me!!!!
