Nervous to try doppler

So, I just received an email that my babybeat doppler will be delivered today. The problem is, I am suddenly terrified of it arriving - because I shall have to try and USE IT!
I know I should hear something by now (11.5 weeks!) and so what if I don't? I have been feeling so much better lately that I can't help but worry. I mean, I still feel nauseous but I can always find something pretty normal to eat (no more days of noodles and miso soup) and I haven't been gagging as much about food.
I wonder if I should just head off to the doctors office tomorrow and let THEM try and find the hb... then do it at home afterwards if its all okay. That way, if they don't find it I can have an u/s right away. Still, it will be tempting to try. Frightening to try. Ugh.

Hi Jen
Thanks for sharing your experience. When everyone talks about dopplers and raves about hearing the hb I didn't realize it took so long or was difficult for them too sometimes.
I think I will wait a few more weeks to try again. It was too stressful!
I wish I could come to chat but we can't connect over our firewall.

Shannon- - I am so proud of you for jumping in and trying it !!!
I had a very difficult time at first trying to find it- - and I am not a patient person, so I would get really wigged. Sometimes it took up to 15 minutes :( Best way, is to lay either flat on your bed or so that your legs would hang down....don't give up !! It's definately been a lifesaver and worth every penny!!
Yes, I am at 26 weeks and will rent it another month!
Belly Rubs,
