Hi Tara
I'm glad you have the second trimester dates to look forward to. After my July 5th amnio I hope I feel a lot better (gotta make it a few more weeks to the 2T!). I think you read my post about the NP appointment where they heard the hb straight away too. Now if only I had as much success at home! (you know, I haven't tried again since last week)

Carolyn - I hope you find out more about this pain at the docs today. Better still, it goes away. It could be your ovary (don't you have a cyst?). I just hope its not your appendix (very unlikely. I've had enough appendix excitement to last me a lifetime.

Julie - any update? I have also been thinking of you.

I am feeling okay. Still nauseous in the morning and at night but mainly the "can't find what to eat and gag a lot" nausea not the stuff that lays you out on the bed all night and has you running to the bathroom. My only complaint is that I have stomach cramps every morning and it makes me feel more ill. I wonder if its the iron in my my prenatals.

I have a naturopath appointment this afternoon and will see what she thinks.

Jenn, good u/s vibes to you! I will be looking for your update.

Carolyn - I definitely feel less bloated some days although the feeling of having a baseball in my pelvis is pretty constant. I am also having that upset stomach thing you mentioned a few days ago and when I have stomach cramps it makes me feel a lot worse illness-wise. You have still been checking the heartbeat, right?

Also, I think we are around the time that the corpus luteum cyst stops producing progesterone and the placenta has taken over. I know that my "OB said I can stop progesterone now I am 12 weeks and I am just working through my last supply before doing that. Perhaps that has some impact on how we are feeling?

I had my first night of getting up twice to pee and my uterus has definitely popped up higher. I have also had some weird stabbing pains on occasion... I'll be asking my naturopath about it today.

Anyway, good luck at the u/s. Hope they figure out what it is.

Julie, I am SO glad the spotting has stopped...I think it is likely that you scratched yourself up there.

Sorry I've been MIA for a while - it's been a horrible week in our house! The week started out with my grad school telling me they were going to defer my admission and take away financial aid because they forgot to mention I HAVE to attend this week-long orientation before my January intensive courses in Chicago. Luckily my advisor is a compassionate woman with grandchildren, so she's trying to bend the rules and put me on maternity leave instead of deferral. I just can't leave a 3 or 4-week old newborn that's nursing at home and DH can't get that much time off. So now that's pending their approval.

Then mid-week my DH got in a minor car accident at 2am and it just so happened his cell phone was broken. After a long night of searching for him and bawling my eyes out because I thought he was dead, I finally got a phone call from the sheriff saying he was alright and to pick him up. Because he smelled like alcohol from the bowling league he plays in, they impounded our car on suspicion of drunk driving BEFORE they even tested him. So even though he passed the tests and was cleared right away, we had to spend $250 to get the car out the next day.

Just when I thought it couldn't get more stressful, Friday morning his company announced they are shutting down his entire plant and most likely his group will get fired as well. So now everything is in jeapordy unless he either keeps his job or can find something new within 2 months!

Whew - sorry for the long rant! I just had to vent because now I'm terrified all this stress is hurting the baby. I am trying to stay calm and doing good under the circumstances, but this can't be good for the bean. I'm glad you asked the question about stress Sandy because I needed to read those responses too! :)

Anyway, I was so sad to return and learn about Kathy. Let's hope she returns to us soon.

CoachJenn - GL with your u/s!!! I am crossing all 20 fingers and toes for you!!

Jenn24 - How's the 2ndTri treating you? I've decided despite the conflicting answers that entering my 14th week is good enough to be considered 2ndTri. I hope you and Molly let me know before you move down without me. :)

Sandy - Congrats on passing your milestone!

Carolyn - Hope you saw my answer above. Keep us updated on the u/s and hopefully it's just a minor cyst or stretching.

Shannon - I'm so sorry about the stressful results, but hopefully the time flies by and you have happy amnio results before you know it. I also hope you are able to find that hb soon. Some days I have a hard time because my own hb is so loud it takes 20 minutes and very careful angling to find the baby underneath that sound. Other days the baby pops to the top and I don't even have to search. I've found that having a full bladder and empty stomach helps a lot.

Everyone else - Congrats on being another day pg and I can't wait to see us all move down this board together. Then we can breathe a collective sigh of relief. LOL

Best,
Cassi
