I'm so glad to hear everyone is doing well and to hear about all the good news from everyone. I was totally thinking about Jenn last night and I've very happy to hear (see) that everything went well.
Tara, Bex and everyone else who felt the baby flutter. I've felt it about a week ago and then again last night. It was amazing. It was the same feeling I had last week. So I believe I'm not dreaming about this flutter any more. I really can't wait for it to get harder and constant.
Rob is also getting really excited about the baby. He's talking about it more and even got us a book about baby names. It's very cute. He's even asking me how I'm feeling and if there is anything he can do to help me, etc. He also wants to get another tattoo in December for the baby.
I am glad to see everyone is doing well!! Today I had my 15 week sonogram and the twins were just fine! It was such an emotional appointment for me just thinking that this could be the end like last time. The sonogram tech was great, so calming. I told him why we were here and he said I understand and lets see how well those babies are doing and as soon as he started, he said look they are kicking!! Both babies are measuring right on time (a little ahead) and hearts were beating away at 154 and 145 bpm! They also weighing in at 5 oz each! It was wonderful to get such great news, it made me feel like this Thanksgiving I will have two special little turkeys!! Also the Perintologist said that my results of the NT scan came out fine and felt that the amino was not manditory and I was thrilled to hear that :)
My next sono is in 3 weeks and then they will do the anatomy check. I am excited about that because we might find out the sex of the babies! Thank you all for all the prayers and well wishes, it was very appreciated and worked!!
Becky: Good to see you updating us on your happenings. I love that your DD found out about the baby at an ultrasound. That's just too cute. And congratulations on your graduating to an OB. Now your right up there (or is it down there) with us regular ole preggo folk.
Steph: OMG you have the patience of Job to have waited this long! But I gotta tell you I'll bet you'll be a happy camper with your new doc. I switched docs and am practically beside myself with glee about it. Sorry about your seperation anxiety with DS. He'll be around for you to love him for a long, long time. Savor your feeling of treasuring this moment. And reminsce (sp?) about it when he's acting out as a teenager.
My hands do get swollen on occasion. Especially when it is warm out which it has been for the last few weeks. It's annoying but manageable. I find that raising my hands over my head sometimes help. My parenting class said that watermellon, asparagus and something else I can't remember are natural diruetics and can help with swelling. Give it a try.
Congrats on your promotion! I'm also worried that my pregnancy will affect a possible promotion but at this point I've given up caring. If they are going to discriminate against me even subconsciously they'll have lots of years in the future to do so. Your male coworker was totally out of line BTW. What a jerk!
Tara: I just finished my response to Steph and then read yours. They are almost identical. Well, the jerk part is anyway. Ha! Your little Maddy is the sweetest thing ever! You have room in your heart for two for sure. And besides, how amazing will it be for Maddy to have a little sister (or brother). That makes my heart melt. Congrats on your flutter feelings. You'd totally know if it was gas. I've had terrible gas pains, and let me tell you they can't be described in any way by the word flutter.
I think the parenting class was just a way for the clinic to make sure that all the Moms to be aren't total morons about what they need to do to be healthy. See, most people aren't neurotic, er I mean, well-read, like we are so they have to be told what they will be feeling what the symptoms will be etc etc. I did get some blood work done. Always like tests. At least those kind. I'm an info junkie.
Because I am a twin, I've gotten quite a few "is it twins?" comments. And just roll my eyes. Umm, I've had three ultrasounds and a doppler check and I'm only 11 weeks, there isn't a snowballs chance that there are two in there anymore then there is a chance that I'm brewing a labrador!
Carolyn: That's great news that your hubby made out like a bandit on switching jobs. Yahooo! We preggos always appreciate it when we have one less thing to worry about. Hey, I was just in Boston a few weeks ago. My first reaction was that the city felt like a college campus. I love that feeling. Great town crappy prices, glad you'll be able to manage the prices part better.
Shannon: You are still gagging! That stinks. While I had m/s I actually started crying at one point blubbering about how I couldn't handle feeling that sick anymore. I hope your nausea goes away soon. I'm still not in maternity pants but since this is my first I won't expect to be until well, 16-18 weeks ish. I have a ways to go to catch up to you BTDT moms in the buddha belly department. I'm all about testing. Why guess when you can get facts? Granted you'll still just have odds but it's better then nothing and most certainly will ease your mind.
Crystal: Geez. My DH is more like, "Do we have to have ANOTHER conversation about names?" Not only that but now he is leaning towards finding out the gender just so we only have to pick one name! Well, I've got news for him, no matter what we are going to have to have a back up name.
Amy: I hear you on the doppler. I'm one of the only ones here that don't have one. I am jealous sometimes (okay, alot) but I should be able to feel movement soon and in the meantime I have my appts to tide me over. Besides, the way I figure it a doppler won't help a sick fetus. Or at least, that's what I keep telling myself! I'd be interested in seeing the results of your poll.
Sandi: Sorry the girls here are taunting you with the idea of twins! Bad girls! Bad! I'm sure you've only got one bean in there.
Speaking of twins... Lisa, so glad your sonogram went well My twin sister and I used to always joke about having a nice suite in the womb. A nice four poster bed and lots of space but not enough so that we didn't kick each other =) Twins are so cool. (Do you detect a self-compliment in there?)
All: So happy everybody is getting good news at their respective appts. Yay! First tri girls!

Shannon...remember how I said I ordered a doppler but decided against it when I had my good u/s?
Good luck Carolyn, you'll find it after a while. Even I did. I hope you find it easily though - then you'll feel better about it for the long haul :)
I remember that thing about "doctor autorization". I left it blank and mind came too.
I did find the hb...pretty quickly in fact.
Yaaay Carolyn!
