Coffee helps me in that department too, but for some people it can work the reverse.

um, hi guys- how are you? I can't believe I can actually post on this board! I kinda wanted to wait til next week (more confident w/ each week, right?) and I think I'll still wait to make an official intro, but I am dying to post to you guys! I can't believe my former dyk buddies Tara, Jen-ay, and Bex are in 2T already!!! (btw, bex, did you get my emails?) Peggy, Shannon, & Carolyn, you're already there too, right? or almost? I'm glad CoachJenn & TivoAmy are still going to be here a few more weeks.. and maybe we can get some more lurkers to come out of the closet post certain 1st appts (ahem!) I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you..

Anyway, I'm motivated to post not only to say hey, but also because I have absolutely NO symptoms, and though I keep telling myself it's really early still, I could still use a little reassurance from outside my head! I am only 15 dpo today, so I guess normal non PAL/ POAS addicts/ people with decent luteal phases wouldn't even know they were pregnant...

so here are my symptoms, if any of them count: sneezy/ sniffly (could be allergies, but they really got worse a couple of weeks ago); tired (okay, this is not unusual); little bit of breaking out (unfortunately also not really that unusual). If my boobs get sore, it'll only be because I keep poking them!

Oh also, as some of you know, I am on prometrium (orally, 2x/ day, 200mg).

Big hugs to all!
Leslie

Leslie!!! Welcome aboard!!! I have been wondering when you would venture over here! I am super excited for you and sending a ton of sticky baby dust your way. About the symptoms! I have really not had any symptoms to count that have been horrible and they will all start coming! Hey I am 7 weeks and I still have not really had anything to horrible! I am starting to think that I might get out of this 1st tri with out any morning sickness. Although I really want some!!

Thank you everyone for letting me know that my comment back was ok to that girl!

Man I am so bored at work that I just sit here and try to post, but my computer is still acting up!

Thanks, Jenn & Jen-ay for the welcome! Jen-ay, I have another tip for you: BEETS. I have a great chilled borscht recipe, really yummy in the summer. If you are not used to fresh beets, they are not even related to the things we see in cans. You can also do a russian salad called vinaigrette- beets, carrots, pickles, potatoes, all chopped up w/ dill and either veggie oil or mayo. (but it's supposed to be a homemade mayo- more like a dressing than the stuff we get here). Anyway, beets are a great laxative- just don't freak out if you try it, cause your poo will look purple! When I first started eating them over in Russia, I was convinced that I was dying of some horrible disease!

Tell me if you want the recipe.

Thanks for the reassurance on lack of symptoms. My first appt isn't til Jun 23rd (no blood draws or betas for me), so I will try to keep positive til then!

btw, CoachJenn, are you taking your prog orally or in suppository form? have you noticed any side effects? i seem to be a little dizzy in the a.m. but it goes away...

Leslie,

I am on the suppositories, and I am actually on 600MG a day. When I first started taking them my symptoms were so strong, but those started at 3DPO. Now I am at 7W and they are not affecting me as much. I have been told with the suppositories because they go straight to the uterus the symptoms are not as strong.

Also I wanted to let you know that dizziness is a pure symptom of pregnancy!!!

I'm with everyone else on the constipation thing. I mean, its not that severe but I don't go as often. I found that the feeling of being ill was much worse when my stomach was a bit affected and I needed to go and I feel a lot better now I've been drinking lots more water, taking prenatals with no iron, eating a high fibre breakfast and having brown instead of white rice. It seems to have helped a lot (the water and no-iron mostly!).

Another weird thing - I think I mentioned I saw my naturopath last week and she asked me to journal everything I ate for a week. Well, I noticed that I was really sick and had an upset stomach every time I ate a lot of dairy (particularly high fat ice-cream and full-cream yoghurt). Since I stopped all dairy I am 100% better. No really bloated moments and bouts of the oppositive of constipation. So, no dairy for me. I am taking a calcium supplement and trying to drink soy or almond milk instead.

Jenn, I am sorry your computer sucks. I wish it was easier to post!

I am so glad we have some newcomers - welcome Leslie and anyone else I have forgotten. It is so weird to be in the almost-2T group when I still feel on the edge of my seat. Every week we get through improves the odds!

Hello all! Sorry I havent been around too much but I am finally getting some energy back and have been staying fairly active. I have been bike riding with the kids and we have gone on a few nature trails/hikes and it has been wonderful. I have pooched so much that neighbors are asking if I am expecting which is exciting but still scary. I still don't know if I am having twins ugh!!! It seems like forever for my next appt. I have gained so much weight it is really depressing. My other pregnancies I gained "perfect" amount of weight and now its just ridiculous sigh.
I am so glad to see Leslie here yeah!!!
Jen, I missed that post on Jan. expecting, but to be honest it can really suck and be uncomfortable and when you havent been through what we have you dont have that kind of respect for what your body can do. I think its nice to be ignorant though I wish none of us would have to worry and not enjoy as much as we do.
Jen-ay, drink tons of water thats what does it for me.;-)

I have found the best thing for allergies and nasal congestion Breathe right strips!!! Omg they are wonderful! I may look like dork but i can breathe yeah!!!!

Horomones are getting the best of me. I replied to hot topics and got a warning from ivillage LOL. i dont care this chick was nuts and I had to put her in her place it felt good too, anyway enough "debating" for me for now LOL

Happy Thursday ladies off shopping for fathers day and to a parade and festival yeah summer!!

Steph
