Shannon: It's funny you should mention that about the Dec EC. I too haven't had any problems over there. I actually like the EC board but I don't post there much. Lots of people tend to not like the hot topic debate boards too but I confess that I really like to read them. Not to see any nastiness, actually most people are well behaved, instead I like to read the differing views. Somethings to me that are obvious I so shocked to find out are not obvious at all to lots of people. For example, I would never dream of getting my baby girl's ear pierced but apparently in large segments of the population this is a totally accepted practice.
As for the horrible stuff going down on the board, I don't think I notice it to the same extent you do cause of your amnio scheduled (which will be fine BTW). In fact now that we are all getting close to the 2nd tri I'm relieved to see the positive thoughts board slow down dramatically. Very few m/cs will come through at this point.
Hey that's great news that you figured out what was making you feel icky! I love the idea of a naturopath. Glad to know yours is giving you a return on your investment =)
Jen: The worry shifting from m/c to birth defects etcetera must be normal. Either that or we are the odd ones out. To answer your pooing question, well, I have had some constipation but nothing so bad I'd like to medicate it. I bought some mini-bagels that are whole grain. I like the small size and it helps me get fiber. I put peanut butter on it. Yum!
Leslie: Welcome aboard! The raging worry is perfectly normal. I didn't get symptoms until the end of week 6. But then I was sick as a dog for 4 weeks. Hopefully you fair better than I did while still maintaining a happy level of symptoms. But you know if you don't get m/s life will end up just as fine when you're holding your babe.
I just got off of prometrium. I'm so glad I was on it because I think low prog caused my last m/c but I was always afraid I would throw it up! Now that I'm off it I'm afraid I will spot, which can happen BTW. Which I have a tiny bit of spotting but I think it was because of a pap I had a few days ago at my first OB appt.
Jenn: WOW! That's alot of progesterone! I can't believe that your body is handling it so well. My doc says otherwise but I swear my prog made me feel sick. Maybe your body is just super good at balancing all those hormones, hence the lessened symptoms.
Steph: Don't worry about that weight. I'll bet you'll find that you end up gaining about as much as you did before. It all evens out in the end. One lady I know lost 30 pounds from the day her DS was born and the second day of his life. Isn't that crazy? Part of it could be water weight too, especially if you feel bloated.
Tara: I had my DH schedule an appt with his allergist because his snoring was so annoying, not loud, just annoying, I have trouble sleeping even when he isn't quietly wheezing! Anywho, my DH likely has sleep apnea. He is going to try to get it treated. He'll have to participate in a sleep study. I'm so excited about it. I can't wait to sleep snore and wheezing free!
You'll be happy for that king size bed once you have two scaredy-cats wanting to sleep with mommy and daddy. In fact, I wish we had gone with the king instead of the queen.
Katie: Whenver you are ready these crazy cats and myself will be here to route you on.
All: I'm doing fine here today. Looks like my cat, Kaylee, can finally keep at least her medicine down. Yay! I have been really worried about her. As for me, I'm spotting a tinsy-tiny bit but it's likely from my pap and my u/s on Wenesday is keeping me going in the positive thought direction quite nicely.
Good morning, and Happy Friday to everyone! I am excited for the weekend! I can't believe it's only been one week (as of tomorrow) that I got my bfp- it seems like FOREVER. I guess because I am still waking up every day taking my temp, hoping that it's real. Remember, Jenn, when you freaked yourself out w/ an hpt that was fainter than usual? I did the same thing last Thursday. I'm mean, it was REALLY faint. I am just not letting myself take another one. (partly because I took 8 before and would have to go buy new ones!)
How is everyone feeling today? Peggy, I'm glad your kitty is feeling better. Any more symptoms anyone?
I bought myself a "fit pregnancy" magazine yesterday for my train ride today- kind of excited! Of course the entire frozen pizza (it was a small one!) I ate last night at 10.30 when I got home from this stupid event -- stupid because it went from 6.30 to 9 pm, and no food was served!! I was sucking the lime in my seltzer water!) - anyway, I don't think that pizza is recommended.. but oh well!
Hey-ya, yeah, I think that is definitely morning sickness- woo-hoo! I know with my angel I felt sick all the time but only really threw up after riding in a car or on subway or first thing in the a.m. Otherwise, I just carried a bucket around from bed to sofa, cause I felt like it could be anytime - I looked really pathetic. I used those sea-sickness bands- I don't know if they helped, but it's worth a try!
I love your tshirt ideas- that is soooo cute! I hope you post lots of pics after the party!
Oh, Jenn, by the way, I meant to ask you what preggo book you're reading? Tara, maybe that would be a good QOTD one time? What are people's favorite pregnancy books? I read Girlfriend's Guide last time which was really funny but not comprehensive enough for a first timer.. I've heard horrible things about What to Expect When.. that apparently it pathologizes pg too much and scares people to death. Def don't need that!
