Hi all,

Feelin kind of blue today. I'm a teacher and today is the first day of summer vacation. I should be happy right? I just feel kind of let down. DS is taking a nap and the house is so quiet. I've been looking forward to vacation for so long and to being pregnant for months, but now all I can do is wait for my u/s. I finally talked to my doctor's nurse on Friday. She scheduled me for July 5th. It seems so far away. I still have that nagging pain on one side. Now that I don't have work to keep my mind of the pregnancy I'm afraid that I'm going to obsess even more. I don't want to wish my vacation away but I wish September would hurry up and get here so that I would be out of my 1T.

Alright enough whining. I did have a nice father's day yesterday. My family came over to my house, but my mom brought all the food! I was so glad because I had DH birthday dinner last weekend and DS birthday party coming up next weekend. My in-laws are coming to visit the next weekend (I love them!) so I have lots of nice things to look forward to.

Leslie, I read that Fit pregnancy article too and it totally freaked me out. I use gloves when I do heavy duty cleaning (like bathrooms, etc.), but I guess I need to start using them whenever I use cleaning products. I also use baby wipes to clean up a lot of stuff and they must be okay. They get out lots of stains and they're pretty handy with my DS still in diapers.

Congrats to the 2T ladies!

Jenn- GL on your u/s tomorrow

Ann - What a cute way to tell your parents! We told ours too, but we're keeping it pretty low key until after the u/s.

Tara - I'm glad that you had such a nice day yesterday.

Hey Teresa,

Sorry for the initial let-down.. I am sure once you get into the summer, you will start filling up your days again! Maybe use this down time for some extra naps.. try not to obsess (though I am definitely guilty of that!)

This weekend we browsed in a couple of used bookstores (we're both book addicts), and I couldn't resist buying some nice editions of childhood favorites.. I got Wind in the Willows, Madeleine, the Jungle Book, a book of Swiss fairy tales from 1940 called "Tales of a Swiss Grandmother" (DH is Swiss), the Railway Children, one of the Happy Hollisters series, and a book by Johanna Spyri that's NOT Heidi - who knew?? It's called Maezli. I can't wait to have a little one to read to, though I bet most of these are for later down the road. Such a sap! :)

So I have my first appt and u/s on Friday- I'll be 5w2d. Do you think I will be able to hear the heartbeat then or is it just too early? Definitely should see fetal pole, though, right? How am I going to make it through the week??

My parents are visiting that wkend, so if all goes well, we'll probably tell then..

xoxo

Hey Ladies
Yes, I am now In the 2T. Even by my unable-to-believe-it calculations. By LMP I was 3 days earlier but I had a trigger shot CD12 and ovulated that day so I kind of expected to be a bit further and every u/s was 3-7 days ahead. Anyway... here (or there) I am.

My nausea is much better. I only gag occasionally (cat vomit did it for me) and if I get hungry and have the bloating under control if I avoid dairy. My latest symptom is huge bbs. They didn't grow suddenly but have reached the point where everyone (yes, DH, DS, my naturopath, my friends) are making comments. My son wants to PLAY with them they are such a novelty. Still exhausted. Still hungry.

I have my monthly OB appointment tomorrow - its routine but I MAY get an u/s to check cervical length. I've had 3 D&Cs in the past 2 years so they are going to monitor me.

About that Fit Pregnancy article: I do try and wash our fruit and vegies with soap - its a special vegie/fruit soap that is not toxic and removes the wax that is sprayed on many fruit. Apparently its not only pesticides that linger. I agree though - just pick your own comfort zone and don't go crazy with trying to be SAFE. I just used bleach yesterday which is unusual for me and I am sure not Fit Pregnancy at all... but I just NEEDED SOME for a pet incident.

It was Fathers Day yesterday but I managed to yell at DH. He just does not help at all around the house. I mean, he does all the "rennovation work" since I became pregnant but he just sits on the couch and waits for food to come and go and rooms to clean themselves without lifting a finger. That was fine when I felt normal but now I have told him I am not able to keep up with cleaning and his response?? "Well, I don't mind some mess. You just have higher standards than me!" I hate that line. Anyway, he ended up helping but I doubt it will last. I just HATE the mess and he really doesn't mind till it is full of clutter - then he cleans it, like a week after I would have gone insane.

Okay, I shall make my 2T post now. GOOD LUCK tomorrow Jenn!

Shannon

Sorry I haven’t been posting! I have been a super-slacker at work (Leslie (greina) I know you have talked about this on TTCAM’s DYK before…), and it’s finally catching up to me. Didn’t help that I was gone from work for 4 hours in the middle of the day on Thursday for my appt! I have been scrambling to put myself back in check and get caught up. I have been reading posts when I can, but haven’t had time to respond.

Well the bloat is here. I am definitely going to have to cut down on carbonated drinks. I got into drinking flavored carbonated water instead of soda, but I may have to cut back on that too. I was so belchy tonight. I know my DH thought it was soooooo attractive. With both of my pgs I have had serious heartburn and reflux. I hope this isn't the start so early. Why couldn't I be getting bigger bbs? Now that's a pregnancy symptom I could get on board with. It was one of my first symptoms with my first pg, but they didn't change at all with my second. Even though I'm uncomfortable, I'm secretly glad that I have some symptoms.

I felt better this afternoon than I did this morning. DH got off early and we all went to the pool. DH played with DS so I got to just sit in the sun for a while. It was so nice. Then we all came back and took a nap. Vacation is definitly looking up. Thanks for the good wishes today!
