This is the first weekend in a month or so when I haven't had Monday off, so it sure seemed short to me!

Good morning ladies,

We had a really good weekend. DS's 2nd birthday was Saturday and we had an Elmo birthday party. He had such a good time! Yesterday we went out to lunch and just relaxed together as a family. My in-laws are coming on Friday. I really love them. DH is from Ireland and his family still lives there so we don't get to see them that often. They will be here for two weeks and we are going to do some fun things with them while they are here.

Ann - I know what you mean about the two losses last week. I haven't gotten to a really feel good place with the pregnancy and knowing that anything can happen at any time scares me. Part of me is afraid too get to excited and the other part says "Hey, don't let fear suck all of the joy out of this experience!" I hope all goes well on Friday. I still have over a week to go before my first appt.

Hi all!

Nina, if you figure out when the nerves go away - let me know so I can have somehting to look forward to ! I'm looking forward to hearing your good news. I don't know if I can take any more of the bad. So sad about the ladies who had to leave us. It does make it a little harder to stay positive. I keep telling myself to make it to this weekend (I'll be 8 weeks on Friday, and that's when we lost the last one).

Just found out that DH's parents are throwing a shindig for the 4th. Fun - just what I want is a house full of cousins and their screaming, running, misbehaving kids. Don't get me wrong, I love kids (DUH!!!), but some of these are absolute TERRORS! I haven't seen my in-laws since we found out about this one, so it should be interesting. Plus my 2 sis-in-law...one just had #6 end of May and other one is due in a few weeks. I'd been avoiding them after the m/c, but at least I'm hoping to be able to share some good news! After that, there's a block party in my neighborhood. So funny that all the "men" tell us it's for "the kids" when their way more excited about fire, food and blowing things up!

Yes, I'd like to know the secret about how to turn off the worry too - so if anyone figures it out, please share!

I too have found some level of comfort in passing the milestone of when we lost our

Hey everyone,

I've been meaning to post this. If you are really queasy try ginger altoids. Ginger is really good for calming a queasy stomach and they really helped me during my last pg when I had a lot of m/s. I haven't had much this time (yet).

Also I read this recipe for a tropical smoothie in a pregnancy mag during my first pregnancy. It tastes soooo good. I don't remember the exact amounts but you can experiment to get the consistency that you want. It has lots of vitamin C and calcium: canned (or fresh) chunk pineapple, vanilla low-fat yogurt, and calcium fortified o.j. Yum!

Just thought I'd share. Sometimes that smoothie hit the spot when I wasn't sure what I wanted. You could probably add some wheat germ too.
