Ann - good luck with your u/s! I remember clearly how nervous/excited I was for that day! I even brought along DS to distract me! :)

Alisha - I was able to hear it on my own at 9w5d. The doc tried it at 9w1d and couldn't find it, so I ended up getting an u/s to verify. I waited a few days before trying again on my own. I've been able to find it every day since. Good luck!

Ann - can't wait to hear about your u/s. How dare they make US wait for an afternoon appt? :)

Hope you are all having a great day! It's my first milestone day, and I'm very happy that I heard the h/b this morning. I don't want to leave my 1T girls, but man, I'm ready to be in the 2T and start breathing easier!

Good morning everyone!

Well m/s is finally here. I haven't thrown up yet, but I have been feeling really queasy since last night and it isn't going away. Looks like it might be morning, noon, and night sickness. My in-laws are arriving tomorrow so I have to drive up to D.C. to get them...on a Friday... on a holiday weekend...with a two year old...with an overactive bladder and a queasy stomach (me not DS:))... should be fun! Luckily we are spending the night so I won't have to make a round trip in one day. I love my hubby for booking a hotel! We are going to shop at the big malls up there on Saturday. Fun Fun Fun!

Ann, I know what you mean about the exhaustion. I am so tired. Yesterday I was trying to clean the house to get ready for my in-laws and my DS kept undoing everything that I did or sneaking away to another part of the house to make a another huge mess. I finally gave up. DS watched Sesame Street and I read a book on the couch! So my house is still pretty much a wreck. Luckily my MIL already knows I'm kind of a messy housekeeper and she loves me anyway.
With regards to the Girlfriends Guide, I haven't read it, but before I had my DS I heard my girlfriends' pregnancy and birth stories a million times. Everyone is going to love to tell you their "horror" stories and if I had a nickel for every time someone told me that "my life would never be the same" I'd be rich. It is true, but you'll never regret it. I can't remember what my life was like before my DS was born. Sure there is pain and worry and sleepless nights, but it is all worth it. I remember when I was about 8 months pregnant starting to get panicky (sp?) I was already huge and I had this sudden epiphany: I was going to have to push this thing out of me! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! Ooops too late now. I know that sounds kind of dumb. I mean we all know that we have to eventually give birth, but it hadn't really sunk in until that moment KWIM. Also keep in mind everyone is different and not everyone gets every symptom, ache, pain, or whatever. My sister had two short child births. Mine was long, but not too bad until the very end. I know it's hard not to worry, but you will get through it and have a wonderfu son or daughter at the end of it.

I thought I better check in - I haven't done it all week!

I made it through my interview on Monday and decided NOT to tell them yet.
